Hello Adventurers!

We are looking at the Peru adventure for next summer. Any reviews?

Thanks!
Stacey

Yes, we did research other companies, but I am a huge Disney fan and was anxious to try ABD, so went with them. We travel a fair amount, and this trip was definitely in the top 3 of our lifetime...it was just really special.

Now I must know more... please share what the other 2 are in your "top 3." :yay:

LOL!! Well, everyone has their top 3 based on experience and preference, but since you asked, and in no particular order I would have to say Peru, the 1st trip to Italy my husband and I took - Venice is magical!! and the Costa Rica trip we just returned from. (At this point it looks as if we may do the ABD Alpine trip next year, but I find the itineraries for the Egypt trips to be amazing and they are definitely calling my name;))

Kjd - saw your note about Egypt and read another one from someone saying it was a shame it was not hawaii. My husband have done egypt and the middle east 3 times (prior to our son being born) and are still in awe of the place. I cannnot begin to describe the majesty and wonder of the country or its people. It is one of the places in the world that you trully appreciate culture differences.

Having done 2 disney trips and planning our third next year (peru V Galapagos.... think the $6000 cheaper I think peru may clinch it) I cannot wait to show Cameron our son Egypt with Disney. It really is one of those places in my experience you should not do alone, to get the most out of it... but alas I feel at 8 he is still a little young to get the most out of it. Lets just hope its popular and they keep it going for a few more years at least.

Good luck with the decision making..

Check the sticky at the top of the forum. Kristilew has a great trip report.

 Thanks, Bobo!

Stacey, the ABD Peru trip is great! You won't go wrong with that one - it was two years ago now for my family, and we still talk about it all the time. Was there anything particular you were wondering about?

KJD - we are also being heavily tempted by the Egypt trip. When would you go? We had about made up our minds to do the Classic Journeys Morrocco trip next Christmas, but the ABD Egypt looks - wow! And DD is a long-time Egyptology nut, she has been beggging to go for years. I've always said, not til ABD goes, so now what can I do :confused3

Hi Kristilew - thanks for the note! We are certain we are going to take this journey... just need to settle on the date. We just returned from the Enchanted China adventure and it was jam packed with sight-seeing and activities. I just want to make sure this trip is just as packed with culture and adventure as China was.

I just viewed kristilew's report and photos since I'm thinking of squeezing this trip in as well for next summer.

I actually met one of the guides who does Peru as well and I asked him my concerns. Of course, the first one is altitude sickness. And the other is incidence of gastrointestinal diseases. Any other input or suggestions? I know they provide O2 to those experiencing the signs of altitude sickness and all pretty much do well.

Hi Kristilew! Since we're probably doing ABD Alps next summer, I'm thinking 2012 for Egypt...I just checked out that Classic Journeys Morrocco trip and it looks fabulous!!...it would be really tough to decide between that and Egypt I would think...let me know what you decide. I can't wait for the first reviews of the Egypt trips to come in next year!!

We just got back two days ago from the Peru trip and it was truly a trip of a lifetime. I hope to get a brief trip report put together, but in the meantime, I am happy to answer any questions you might have. I can tell you that this was our first ABD trip, but certainly not our last!!!!

Yeay - so happy to hear you had a wonderful experience! Can I ask - why you chose to do this trip with ABD? Did you look into other group trips to Peru? Can't wait to see your report and pictures, I hope!

We leave for Peru in just two days and are VERY EXCITED, especially after reading the great reviews from ABD Peru veterans.

Quick question: Did you have Wi-Fi access at the three hotel locations? I hope to be able to upload photos to a photo sharing Web site while I'm there.

Yes, please do post a report! :thumbsup2 I'd love to hear what the trip looks like in its third year, who you had as guides, what your favorite things were, etc, etc!
