Since I am new here and you girls probablly already know each other, I was wondering if you would mind telling me a little bit about yourselves. Like where you are from, how old, how long you have been engaged etc.

I am 26, live in New Orleans,La. I have not gotten my ring in yet but I have technically been engaged for about two months. I was married before, no children but I do have a cat and my fi has a dog. He is a manager for Abita Springs Water and I have a business degree and an currently working on my degree in psychology. I don't usually keep a job for too long because I hate office work but I would need a masters in business to make the big bucks!!! I take temp jobs now and then when I want a new Louis Vuitton bag or something. I am a BIG LOUIS fan. I have 11 pieces in my collection. One day I will probablly sell them. Maybe to pay for this wedding hehehe. Yeah right, I am sure most disney weddingmoons are not that expensive.

---I like tanning, working out, singing, and listening to music.
I have one brother and one sister and my family lives about an hour from me. My favorate food is mozerella cheese sticks and Copeland's Artichoke and Spinach Dip with bowtie pasta.

---My fav band is Linkin Park, Default and Our Lady Peace.

--My fav person is JESUS!!!!

Well, I guess that does it. I hope to get to know all of you better.

Great idea Darian-Dawn :)

My name is Angie Hare, I'm 26 and live in Lafayette, IN. I work at Purdue University as a Desktop Support Specialist.......which really means that when people's computer breaks down I'm the one they call.........my husband is a Human Resource Manager for Caterpillar Logistics which stores parts for the main Caterpillar plant here in Lafayette.

My husband and I both love Disney and that's where we got engaged and married, it's our special place. No kids, we just got a golden retriever puppy though and I have a cat. The puppy is a maniac and since we've gotten it we've decided that we do not have the patience for kids right now :teeth:

Well, my name is Jamie and I am 24 years old. I live in Chicago with my fiance Brian, who is 23. I am originally from Boca Raton, FL (first 20 years of my life). We moved up to Chicago for Brian to finish school. I am a nanny of 3 wonderful kids, and a Personal Assistant to the same family. Brian is a Bartender while he goes to school for Computer Information Systems to be a Computer Programmer (almost done, yeah!).

I am a total Disney Girl!!! My whole family is! When we were young my parents would take us a once a month. It was great, they loved it. And now they are doing the same thing with my 4 year old nephew. He loves going to Disney with his Mom-Mom and PaPa (it also gives my sister a break). I always told everyone that my dream was to some day get married at Disney and now it is really happening!! We are having a Custom Wedding at the Pavilion and the Boardwalk Resort (evening ceremony and reception). We are inviting approx. 140 people. In order to have the wedding at Disney we had to cut back our guest list from 250, but it was ok with me. We are inviting all of the family and close friends. I am just so excited!!!

For our Honeymoon we are going to do a 7 night cruise. (Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Belize). Thats what Brian wanted to do since he has never been on a cruise or to any of those places.

I like shopping, reading, walking, swimming, going to the beach, and movies... and more (also i love to sleep, just dont get enough of it)

I have 2 sisters, both older then me. One lives in Boston and one lives in Florida. (I am the first to be married)

My all time favorite movies are Pretty Woman and Jerry McGuire.

My favorite shows are Friends and Will and Grace. ( I also love reality shows)

Well I hope this helps everyone get to know me w little better!!!

DoctorTigger, What a small world, my fiance also works for Caterpillar. He is a branch manger of rental and Division manager of work tools. He was actually out near your this week as he had a business meeting in Chicago!
Now back to me..lol
My name is Meranda and I am a part time teacher and part time therapist at a different school! Hopefully next school year I will find full time employment doing one or the other! My fiance and I just bought a house. We spend most of our time working on that. Right now he lives there by himself. As much as he begged me to, I told him I wasn't moving in till we got married. So far I am sticking to my word! Another reason I didn't want to move in right away is because this is the last summer I will be able to spend much time with my sister. We are extremely close and she will be going away to college next year. I will miss her terribly!

I struggled for a while with the thought of a Disney Wedding. Since both our families live so far away from Disney, we knew that not all of them would be able to attend. I knew that in my heart that getting married at Disney was like a chance of a lifetime and we didn't really want to give that up. I knew that if I had a hometown wedding it would only be because thats what I thought everyone else would have wanted. So we talked it over with our immediate families and a decission for a Disney wedding was made. Although not all of our extended family will be there, we will be having both our parents, our grandparents, our sibblings, and three of our closest friends. This worked out great for an intimate.

Like Jamie, I also love "Friends" and "Will & Grace". I will be so sad when they end! (this will be like the ending of "90210". Any fans of that?) I also enjoy traveling. I was a chaperone on a trip my school took to England and Ireland two years ago and I was bit by the travel bug! This year my sister and I are traveling to Italy and France. While in Paris I hope to make a trip to Disney land Paris! I also belong to a tennis club, and enjoy reading and writing. Probably my favorite thing to do right now is decorate our new home! So many decissions to make, (and it takes so much money to actually do them)!

O, by the way. Neither one of us has any children but I do have a yellow lab. She is just the sweetest thing. I will be so sad to leave her when I get married. Even though she is my dog I have agreed to leave her at my parents house. She is extremely attached to my parents and this is the only home she has known! I will only bring her to my new home to swim. Being a lab, she LOVES the water!
I look forward to meeting the rest of you. What a good idea Darian-Dawn!

Hi! I'm Megan. I'm 25 years old and live in New Jersey with my fiancee and his 6 year old son. I have no kids of my own and have never been married before.

I graduated college in 2001 (Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA) with a double major of elementary education and psychology. I work in a small elementary school as a 5th grade teacher. I love all my kiddies! My fiancee is a PE teacher, which is how we met.

I love tanning, as well! I also love acting, and anything else artsy. I love going to NYC and think it is the absolute best city in the world!

I, as well, LOVE Disney. I had an internship there in college (summer of '97) and fell in love. I made the best friends of my life there!

:)

Ooo what a lovely idea

My name is Sam (short for Samantha) I am 35 and live with my future hubby Paul in the United Kingdom on the borders of East London.

I gave my career in Human Resources up last year to concentrate on our home and on "us" - I do still take on contract work but right now I am currently not working but busy planning our wedding. Paul works for an IT training company.

This is my second marriage and Paul's first and we never thought of getting married anywhere else but Disney's yacht Club Gazebo. The YC is the first place we vacationed together at and so it holds special memories for us.

After our wedding we will honeymoon on the Magic and then back to our Home - Beach Club Villas for 6 more nights.

When we get home we are going to decide on whether we will be moving or extending on our current house - so I'll have plenty to keep me busy. We also plan on welcoming a little doggy into our family soon after we make that decision.

I spend a lot of my spare time on the DIS or on other forums and I love to help people with planning trips, weddings etc.

I've met many true friends since my time on the DIS some of whom we will have the pleasure of their company at our wedding.

Our life currently feels truly blessed :)

My name is Helen. I'm 24 years old, and live with my FH, Walter in Poughkeepsie, NY.

I work for a company that production manages corporate events. Walter is a video producer.

Our wedding is June 25. The ceremony will be at the Wedding Pavilion, with the reception at Atlantic Dance Hall. After that we are going to be having a dessert party on the Italy Isola. Lately the wedding planning as turned into a very hig drama situation, especially with my parents. This has definitally taken some of the fun out of it, but Walter has been so sweet about it, and I keep reminding myself that the only important thing is at the end of the day on June 25, we'll be married!

Walter and I are high school sweethearts and have taken many trips to WDW together. (my parents are vacation club members, and most of the trips were curtiousy of them).

We are hoping to buy a house in the next year but for now we are just working on making our apartment more homey. We are TV addicts, and we love our Tivo. I'm trying to convince walter to let me get a dog. So far, it hasn't worked, but I think he's pretty close to caving :)

I spend a lot of time lurking on the Dis, and other wedding boards looking for ideas etc. I'll pipe in when I feel I've got something to add to the conversation.

Hey guys! I'm Courtney, I'm 21, and I'm not actually "engaged" yet. We've been planning our wedding as much as we can for the past year or so, but since Patrick (22) graduated last June, he hasn't found a job. We're hoping that he'll find something this summer, but if he doesn't find a "real" job, he will be finding a job of some sort, just not in his field necessarily. Within a few months of him becoming gainfully employed, we plan to get engaged, and have a short engagement, around 5 or 6 months. We're getting married somewhere near Asheville, NC (no idea where yet, as my church is UGLY and just not an option) and then heading to WDW for our honeymoon! I grew up going at least once a year, and he made his first trip with me during spring break of 2003. Luckily, he caught onto the magic and wants to go back, and we want to do things a lot differently this time, with things I've never done before (like DisneyQuest, waterparks, etc). I can't wait!

I graduate in about two weeks from NC State University and I start graduate school in the fall. Location is TBA since I'm waiting to see where he is in the job situation. We had planned our wedding to be in August, so when early August and our original date hits, I may be looking for some support around here, as I'm sure I'll be sad. Now I'm hoping for early next year, maybe even whenever my spring break is from school so that I won't have to take time off for a honeymoon. We may even delay our honeymoon if we'd prefer to get married a different weekend, who knows.

I'm an avid scrapbooker, and I love any and all things Disney. I'm going into School Psychology and he's in Electrical Engineering. No kids but we're looking forward to getting a cat asap. We met in college through the Baptist Student Center and were in love within the first month, and three and a half years later we are just absolutely crazily in love. I couldn't be happier! (Unless he got a job tomorrow, started Monday, and we were engaged by the end of the month! THEN I'd be happier! hehe)

So is this thread exclusively for women? I wasn't sure what to make of it when I read "and you girls probablly already know each other". Believe it or not there are *some* guys that enjoy Disney and even moreso, planning a honeymoon there. :bounce:

DW and I had our honeymoon at WDW and I'd be happy to share the details. I just didn't want to interrupt any hen parties if this is, indeed, a females only thread. :smooth:

Well, our first trip was in 2000 when I leeched on to her company's hotel room at the Swan. She was down there for a conference for work and I flew down during my exam break to have a few days there. We bought our park hoppers on ebay and while she worked all day, I enjoyed relaxing on the beach at the swan and drinking many banana daiquiris :bounce:

However, since we didn't get as much time in the parks as we wanted, we went back for our honeymoon in 2002, and then our first anniversary in 2003. This year we're going in November for our first Land & Sea cruise.

With the packages we were on for our honeymoon/1st anniversary I can safely say that we did all the "good stuff". We were on the Discovery Magic (DM Silver) which had all the inclusives with it. It was truly a magical experience for us!

I love 90210 as well. I bought all 10 seasons off the internet. I am pathetic!!! Oh well, I grew up with that show. I mean really grew up!!!

-Hey that is a good question, What character on 90210 best suits your personality or appearance. I will have to go with Brenda for the Attitude and the figure except I have a tan, Donna for the stupidity part, not the virgin part, and Kelly for the long blond hair part. How bout all of you??

_ this is for the guy who responded, I would love to hear about your disney adventures with your sweetie. We are all here to give and get advice so welcome aboard!!!

-Thanks everyone for telling me a little bit about yourselves, I am glad to share this experience with you. God Bless.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Okay Darian-Dawn,
I am just as Pathetic....Please tell me more about the 10 seasons of 90210. I would love to get my hands on them. I have started my collection of "Friends", and could only dream of having such a collection of 90210. (okay, I know thats really sad).
I am really not a TV addict, There are few shows that I actually watch, and I am faithful to them.

My name is Melissa, although I usually go by Missy. I am 24 and graduating with my Masters degree in physical therapy in about 3 weeks. I was born and raised in Hamden, CT and attended Utica College for undergrad and grad school. That is where I met my fiance David. He is 25 and a nurse in CT. We have an apartment together and look forward to buying a condo or house after our wedding.

I had many dreams of getting married at Disney; however, with 6 years of college loans for both of us and paying for the wedding alone, it does not seem feasible. SO, we are making the best of it and having our Disney themed wedding at home in CT and then honeymooning at WDW. We have been to WDW together twice and are looking forward to our land and sea honeymoon in May 2005!!:earsgirl: :earsboy:

My turn!

My name is Jennifer, I am 30 years old. My fiance is Ryan, he is 32 years old. We are from NJ. I own my own Graphic and Interior design company and work primarily for Ryan and his company. He is a custom integrator that does high-end home theaters and estate management for people with WAY tooo much money! We work together and it is great! We make a great team and amaze many that see us in our "working" atmosphere. We currently live in the house that Ryan owned before I met him and I am renting mine out. We have an English Bulldog named Hercules...of course! and he is just so cute! We met on the internet, YEP no joke! on match.com. It all happened pretty quick and we knew right away that this was it.

We are getting married on September 18 at the WP and having our cocktails at the Isola, Reception at the AARotunda, and desert party back on the Isola. We are also having a Welcome Party on the night before and a Character Breakfast the morning after. So far we have about 125 guests attending, but it looks like me may top off at 150. We will be staying in Fort Wilderness in our Big Blue Disney Bus for a week and then going to Italy and Ireland in the following April, if we are not pregnant by then! I know, I know, that is so fast. I want to wait a bit but he wants to get started and be a Daddy already. We'll see!

I too grew up with 90210 and used to tape every episode!

I love to sit on the beach, camp, read, do home improvements, hang with my HUGE family and smooch up all the little ones! Can't get enough of those babies!

Hi! I'm Michelle (29) and my DF is Tim (32) we're having an intimate wedding at Sunset Point on Sept 8, 2004. I'm a dispatcher for 7 small police deparments and a Hospitality major at Kent State. Tim is a chef. We live in a township about a 1/2 hour outside of Cleveland, Oh. While Tim likes Disney, I'm Disney insane and it has taken over our home. We have Tigger on the walls, towels, shower curtain, and even on our dishes. Getting married at Disney has been my dream and I can't believe we're finally going to our dream wedding. I'm so glad I found this group, most of my friends don't get my love of Disney.
Thanks to you all!

Michelle you sound like *my* wife. :p

What is it with ladies and Tigger? That guy must have some sort of strange orange and black sex appeal.

Our entire basement is basically a Tigger shrine. Some of the latest additions are a hand-drawn Tigger that we got at MGM Studios. We also got one of those "Tigger Movie" banners that you see at the movie theater. I'm not talking about the small one either, one of those big ones that they hang from the ceiling. Anyway, that takes up a wall. :p And the latest addition is the "Bouncy, Trouncy, Tigger" sericel I got for her last Christmas.

I'm just waiting for the word to get the orange carpet put in. hah!

:wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Tigger Lover right here..........over here..............yep thats me!

:hyper:

Although if he tried to grab me in inappropriate places while getting my picture...............I'd probably flatten him out!!!!! Dang CM's anyway!!!!!

I only have a Disney room.......my hubby won't let me creep out into the house with my mania!!!!

Doc Tigger, you have to ease him into it. I started w/ a throw on the living room couch and then added something once a month. Although when he saw me ordering tigger sheets for our bed he had a melt down!

Stuart, I'm pea green w/ envy! I wanted one of those banners but I couldn't get my hand on one. My DF teases me that if his initials weren't TGR I wouldn't be marrying him!

I'm 23 years on and my DF Richard is 22. We both live in OH but Richard is from England. I'm graduating with my associates in Occupational Therapy Assisting in June and Richard will graduate June of 2005 with a degree in mechanical engineering. We've been together for 6 years, since my senior year of high school. Right now we are hoping to get married August 15 2005 at the Wedding Pavillion. We are having an intimate wedding of 13 people and are staying at WDW for 5 days. We're trying to do this wedding on a tight budget. Keep your fingers crossed that everything works out.
I've always been a huge Disney fan and he loves me enough to let us get married there. I'm convinced that he doesn't care where the wedding or honeymoon are as long as he gets a wedding night.

Congratulations to everyone,

Jamie:bride:

My name is Jennifer and I just turned 34. I live in Deerfield Beach, FL with my fiance Mike. We have an 11 month old daughter, Payton. We also have a son Taylor who is in heaven. He passed away 2 years ago from SIDS. He was 5 1/2 months old. We were planning on getting married before our son passed away and just recently decided to set a date. We are getting married December 9, 2004 at Sunset Pointe. Rev Jack is performing our ceremony.
Mike and I both work for Muvico Theaters as Senior Operations Managers. He works in Davie and I work at Cityplace in West Palm Beach. We met 4 years while working for AMC Theatres in Houston, TX. We've been through alot together and I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams!!
We went to Disney in March with our daughter and haven't stopped talking about it. We absolutely loved the way she loved the whole experience. She loved the character breakfast at Crystal Palace and she couldn't get enough of Mickey and Minnie at MK. We are hoping at 18 months she will still enjoy the experience when we are married. We've heard about 2 year olds being afraid of characters :p

Some of my favorite things:
band: Dave Matthews, U2
food: Copelands
movie: It's a Wonderful Life, Casablanca
Football team: GO BUCS!!
Hockey team: GO LIGHTNING!!

Enough rambling..........I look forward to reading about everyone's plans.
