I am in the process of creating a welcome basket for each of our kids to place in our room when we check in(I will sneak them in before everyone gets into the room so it will look like it was left by their favorite Disney character). I am a huge fan of personalization but not a big crafty person. I would like for most of the items in the basket to be personalized. Does anyone know the best way to personalize a rain poncho? I am just thinking about adding each childs name and some small decoration unique to them.

I would also love items on what else to put in the basket. Right now I am thinkings:

1) Custom M&M & Mentos containers for penny press machines(thanks Mandy:)
2) T-Shirt - I will get the designs from one of the great Disdesigners
3) Personal Mister fan - plan to personalize these
4) Candy - I am thinking a small bag of their favorites for each day we will be at Disney
5) Rain Poncho

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Based on advice that Rustman gave to another posters I am moving this to the arts and crafts board.:)

An activity book, autograph book, t-shirts, pillow slip, and the list goes on and on:lmao:Look at this page of this thread and you will see all of the "stuff" made by KRD315. Have fun, Penny

I made Ds7 a tower of terror door handle hanger (with the help of Mel - bababear) for his room at our villa, but it's now hanging on his door at home.

I also made gift tags for each present bag, just with his name, but now they hang on his school bag and the spirals of his diary. They were laminate so that they would last longer.

I made a family vacation bookmark - just create a long oblong box in Word, with a thick border and insert a picture (i found a picture of stitch reading a book) And added our family name and vacation dates. I then laminated these, cut them out and added a knotted ribbon through a hole made with a hole punch. I then added the bookmark to a Disney themed reading book.

I also laminated a little Disney pictured and "xxxx's notebook" and double sided sticky taped those to small notebooks.

A personalised activity book was a must - filled wi cross words and puzzles, as well as colouring pages to suit the recipient!

Some people on here have also wrapped disposable cameras and packets of crayons, but I'm not that crafty!

A new pen or pencil set and some Disney stickers bulks out the baskets for not a lot of money. I did think about making some individual stickers on the computer using postal stickers but I couldn't figure out how to do it!!

For the last day I also made a pirate bag, with things for the trip home, as we had a 8.5hr flight. I put in a personalised pirate passport (activity book), pirate medallion (the laminator came out again and I added some leather cord), some chocolate coins, pirate stickers - all in a skull and cross bones bag that I ran up on the sewing machine (I can just about sew straight lines!!)

I loved making up the gift bags!
