I was at DCA last Sunday and while waiting to approach the FP line for Soarin, the party in front of us (a group of teenagers) handed the CM a piece of paper. He asked them "which one of you is Brent?" and the teens said "oh, he's already in line" The CM informed them that "the person whose name is on the pass must be in line with them" and would not let them through.
My guess is these kids found some sort of pass with this kid's name on it and tried to pass it off as their own.
Later that same day (I forget what ride it was - it might have been in DL) a party in front of used the same type of pass, this time with the person's whose name was on it actually with them and they were let through the FP line

What are these - some sort of skip the line thing for certain people? I'm familiar with FPs, but both these passes were bigger white pieces of paper and though I couldn't read them, they obviously had names on them

Bounce, there are passes that allow those that for whatever medical reason, can't wait in the regular line. A lot of people abuse it, and it sounds like the kids from your first story are an example. The passes you're describing sound like these..

Right...the GACs. I've heard of them of DIS but never seen them. That makes sense! Thanks.
I hate hearing about the abuse though. I can't TELL you the number of wheelchairs I saw being used as a reason to skip lines, hearing people say "okay, now its my turn to ride in it" That's so frustrating!

Just remember that those using wheelchairs like that probably aren't having as carefree of a day as you think they are. The lines they are skipping are probably just giving way to lines of a different kind.

Interesting thing at Nemo I witnessed. Woman with her preteen boy were in line in front of us, and as we got up close, I realized she was with an elderly woman with a ECV. Woman with the ECV was waiting at the accessible entrance to the line (which made her look like she was getting front of the line access!). A bit before the part where you get into the sheltered line right before the subs, the woman and her son split off from the regular line to join the elderly woman. And then...they were placed into a line for the sub directly in front of us. Exactly where they would have been if they all waited in the regular line.

I have a feeling that happens more than people just getting to skip to the very front.

Plus, they are out the cost of the rental chair AND they have that on their future consciences and their karmic fortunes, long after our memories of them are gone. :hourglass

In recent years management has cracked down on GACs. During the Harris/Pressler era they handed them out like birthday pins. While there is still a percentage of people who abuse the system, whether its with GACs, wheelchairs, or whatever, I think the abuse has gone down in recent years.

Could they have been using the Special Dream Fast passes? I haven't gotten very close to one yet. But they do appear to be large white strips of paper? Attached to a blue card?

Last October we went on the Halloween tour. It was really busy and took 45 minutes of the tour to tide TOT. Because of this, we had to skip the BTM portion of the tour. At the end of the tour, the tour guide gave each of us two of these paper "fast passes". Each one was good for up to 6 people.

What you saw might have been one of these "consolation fast passes".

No, the Dream FPs don't have names on them and they are tiny blue tabs attached to a small blue card.

These passes don't have names on them either. They simply say what date and how many are in your party. I've had them a few times and they've never asked for a name.
