We're staying at Port Orleans FQ. I haven't been to Disney in 30 years. What's normal procedure for stowing personal stuff like computers, papers, etc. Do you put this stuff in your car when you leave for the day? Or should I not worry about it. Thanks. (First post)

There is a small wall safe you can use, but we have left stuff laying out and have never had an issue.

We never have a car so we put everything in the safe or hide it in a suitcase. I've never had an issue. DH often dumps his change on the small table in the room at the end of each day. I always tell him to pick it up, but he doesnt', so I figure mousekeeping will take it as a tip. Not once has it ever been touched.

The only thing that I put into the wall safe is our passports and our extra cash that we have brought. Otherwise, we leave our computers, ipads, phones, etc... in the room and we've never had a problem.

Ditto ....
You can always put them in a drawer in between/covered by your clothes if you dont want to leave it in the open.

I wouldn't keep any electronics in a car in Florida, not sure if the extreme heat would be very good for it.
We use the safe to store passports, phones, cash, etc. And just put my laptop in my drawer. You could lock it in your suitcase if you wanted, but I can't be bothered.

I'm with the others - we just leave things out. The safe mainly gets used by my husband to put his house keys in there and for anything he takes out of his wallet to decrease the size (no reason to carry around a Kroger shopper's card).

We just went for a week and had our laptop on the table in Pop Century for a full week. We left it there, usually still turned on and just put a newspaper or a T shirt on top of it. My husband's PC was also in the room and never touched. I left my video camera in the room a couple of days as well.

My laptop is small enough that I place it in the room safe when I leave the room for the parks. Any important documents I place in there as well.

I think those types of things are probably more secure in the room safe than being left in a car all day. Also, think that during the warmer months of the year, it may get too hot in the car to safely leave a laptop in there.

The wall safe at POFQ is WAY too small to put any laptop in. If you carry a passort, it would fit lol.

We used to be pretty casual about leaving stuff out too - laptops included. But then we came back to our room at CBR one day to discover that mousekeeping had not closed the door securely when they left. Anyone could have walked in and taken whatever they wanted. So we're a little more careful now. We at least try to conceal what's there. Our hope is that a potential thief will not want to take the time to dig thru our things for fear of getting caught. I don't think there's much else you can do with larger items like laptops unless your resort has a place to lock them away. I know that Wilderness Lodge has a facility for that because we've used it. But it's kind of time-consuming. Probably not something you'd want to do everyday.

Apparently none of you have seen the thread about people being assigned already occupied rooms. Mistakes happen, and there is a chance someone else could gain entry to your room. Just not a great idea, leaving all of your valuables out in plain sight.
