personal question

Hi all,

First, I have to say I am a regular poster here on the Dis but I have a question that I'm a little embarrassed about. Hence, my posting as 2embarrassed.

I sweat a lot. Mostly on the back of my head and back of my neck. Does anyone else have this problem or know a remedy for this? Some sort of topical cream or something I can put on so I don't look like I just got out of the swimming pool? I read online that they treat excessive sweating of hands, feet and underarms with Botox injections but I can't find anything about head and neck. TIA.

Have you seen an Endocrinologist? They specialize in hormones and glands, maybe they can give you a treatment, perhaps you have an imbalance.

I would make an appt with a doctor-- have your regular family dr refer you to a specialist. There has to be something that can be done to help you . I am sure you aren't the only one with this problem.

Excessive sweating can be an indication of heart problems. I learned this after my mother's heart attack.

Have you done this all your life? If not, I'd recommend medical advice just to be safe.

Thank you for your responses. This has been happening for the last couple of years and has gotten progressively worse. I haven't seen a dr. yet because of $$. I know that is a terrible reason but we have a lot going on right now. I was hoping there would be an easy answer. I just need to bite the bullet and get to the dr!

Nothing to be embarrassed about.. Anyway, my dd19 used to sweat unbelievebly. To the point where she would only wear certain shirts. I called the dr. and she prescribed an antipersperant called drycol. While reading the bottle, it said that it can be used all over the body, where needed. After the first few times in using it her problem disappeared. Call your dr. and ask about it.
