I ask this because I do not. I am not bragging, but it's true. I look 10 years or more younger than I am. Now, I am not complaining. Well, maybe I am. Not about looking younger, but about why people don't believe me. It gets a little wearing everytime I meet someone new and mention my kids (20 and 21) or that I've been married for 22 years, and I am not to be believed. Why would I lie about that? I was just cast in a play and we got to talking last night about ourselves, you know, getting to know each other. I mentioned I was going to Kansas to spend my daughter's birthday with her. I was asked if she lives with her dad there, and I said no, I live with her dad, she's a senior in college in Manhattan, KS. I was not believed. I had to get out my driver's license to prove I was telling the truth.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather look younger than my age or older, but it gets so annoying when I have to argue everytime I meet someone new. I may get a shirt that says, "Over 40 and proud of it."
Does anyone else have this problem? Or am I just thin-skinned and should count my blessing and get over it? How about any of you, do you look your age?
