Personal Misting Fans

I bought these at Wal-Mart this weekend. They are $2.97 each. As someone mentioned above, it has the caribiner clip at the bottom and they fit nicely in your hand. And they were in the fan section although I had to search a lot for them because they just did not group all the smaller handheld fans together. They were sporadically placed throughout 3 different aisles. So, if you go to Wal-Mart and find one kind but not the other at first, don't assume they do not have it!!

OMG...just wanted to say thanks for the tip on the fans! I went to our local Walmart this evening and picked up 6 of them...2 of each color. They are just perfect!

For those that may have had issues finding them...nobody I asked in my Walmart had a clue. I searched the pool, toy, garden, auto and fan departments with no luck. Just when I gave up I saw a huge center aisle display of EverStart car batteries...and there was this small display hanging from the car batteries...with all the little misting fans. Weird place to have them, but I guess it paid off that I went up and down every single aisle that wasn't clothing or food.

I tried 2 Walmarts yesterday and NO LUCK! :sad2:

I think I will go back and check again in the next few days.
Thank you for the tips because "asking" at Walmart is USELESS :(

Now I am on a mission to find them. I saw them elsewhere on line for $10.00 each plus delivery, OUCH!

Definitely keep looking (and yes, the sales associates are rather useless). The few that THOUGHT they knew what I was talking about directed me to the fan department where they had the huge spray bottle attachment type mister fans. Cute, but I could get those big bulky ones at Disney. I never expected to find the fans sharing a center aisle display with CAR BATTERIES!

Now $10 for the fans...wow...maybe I should have bought out the display and thrown them on Ebay. Good heavens...talk about price gouging! :sad2:

I think I'll go back today to the (closer) Walmart and check out the battery aisle, CRAZY place for a fan!!!
THANKS! And I agree, $10. each IS nuts!

If you have a Rite Aid, they sell the small carabiner ones too, at least they do here in NY. They are $4.99 there and in the aisle with the summer stuff. They were on sale last week and I got 2 blue ones.

Edited to add that I saw the bigger bottle misting fans by 02 Cool, so if you're lucky your CVS might have the small ones too. It's from the same company.

I went to my local Wal-Mart yesterday and they only had one of the carabiner fans left. I found it tucked in the back of a shelf somewhere. I still need to get at least one more before I leave, but I thought I'd give a heads-up to really search around the shelves in the hardware department before giving up!

Just an FYI...I just bought 4 of the fans at WalMart. Because of the previous poster who said the battery cover was missing on hers I made sure to check each one before purchasing them...sure enough, there were a few with battery covers missing. So - make sure you check yours before you leave the store!

I can tell you the 18.00 one at Disney works great.. the fan blows very hard and fast and cools you instantly. and the water mist is nice too.

We used these on our 11 day trip last August and they were amazing! My DH, DD, DS, and I each had our own. They are so easy to carry and are powerful enough to cool you off. Several people throughout the trip kept asking us where we had bought them. We initially bought 2 at Walmart, and then later found more at Kmart. Don't forget the extra batteries.

I picked up two large ones at one of our Wal-marts ...

We have 7 Wal-marts all within 15-30 minutes of each other where I am ...

In each store I found them in different areas which include: summer/pool gear ... camping stuff ... end of the rows in gardening ... right when you walk in to the store ... and at checkout ...

I went to Walgreens (had to pick up some Mother's Day cards) ... their large misting fans were $7.99!!!! ... swung by a Wal-mart and they had 4 left ... I bought 2 for $4.99...

Note: I am not heading to WDW until June 2008 but I am slowly buying :rotfl2:

Just wanted to let you know we used the Carabiner misting fans from WalMart on our trip to WDW last week. They were PERFECT! They were easy to carry around (not bulky like the bigger ones) and easy to refill with water at fountains. My only complaint is that I find the battery covers come off very easily...I lost the the battery cover on mine on our 4th day in the parks. The fans were great for cooling down just when we needed it. I'll be using these a lot over the summer. I give them a big :thumbsup2 !

We loved our little misting fans too (the O2Cool ones with the caribiner). We loved that their small size wasn't bulky and didn't weigh us down. I attached mine to the strap of my messenger bag so that if I wanted to use it, I didn't have to unclip it. I could just slide it up the strap and keep on walking! It was 90 and humid each day we were there and they worked really well. I thought that they might just blow the hot air around, but they really did help to cool us off.

:thumbsup2 Highly recommended for those visiting the parks in the warm months!!!!!!

Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to place some duct tape on one side of the battery covers to help prevent that. I just have to remember to do that....;)

19.99 for a dozen isn't so bad considering the very first ONE we bought was $18.00 at WDW..LOL

We have since purchsed them at WalMart, though they are not always in stock and we have found you can always find great deals for them on EBAY!:thumbsup2

Just wondering the small misting fans, how often do you have to fill them up with water?

Thanks

I only had to refill mine once a day in the parks. I guess it depends on how often you're going to be "misting" yourself. :confused3 There are water fountains all over the place, so it's not a problem to refill them.

I searched Wal-Mart several times and gave up. I decided to see if there was a website which there was but...... you couldn't order from the site. They had a listing of stores that carry the misting fan so here I am....a woman on a mission:drive: DH and DD #1 thought I had lost my mind :rolleyes2 and said yeah...go ahead and see if you can find them. I went to Walgreens, Target, Lowes, and accidentally found them at K-Mart when I was just about to give up and go home  I looked down and there they were on the bottom of a shelf :jumping1: You can imagine my joy of course, and they wouldn't understand since DH has NEVER been to WDW :sad2: I bought four fans and came home doing the happy dance so when we go to WDW in 32 days they will all :worship: and be extremely grateful that I was on a mission. hee hee :lmao:

Our Walmart had the fans next to the car batter display! I only found them because I was determined that they were in the store, so i searched every aisle up and down that was not clothing or books! :rotfl: Glad you found them finally-I've heard a couple of people say they found the same ones in Kmart too!
