personal fan misters

We saw lots of them in the park when we were there in May, they have them on ICe so when you buy them they are full of ice cold water! I think they were 16.95. They are sold at the little wooden sovenir carts that are spread all over.

Just bought a really nice one at Target in their summer section, they had huge bins of various summer stuff, it was a nice big one (real pretty and summery looking ) for only 3.99!!!

We actually have them alreayd but I thought I knew better and that we would not really need them (there the last week of May 2005). I didn't want to have to pack anything extra than I was alreday doing. I WAS WRONG! :confused3 We experienced a few days that were very hot and we were sweating in the shade! I ended up spending the $17  in the park and buying it, but it was worth it.
If you have them already or can get them cheap, it is well worth the extra trip to the store.
Have great memories on your upcoming trips. Can't wait until we can go again!

I work at walmart. They are in the hardware section where all the fans are. We also sell something called a Misty Mate which in my option is MUCH better. No batteries needed. Same isle right next to spray bottle fans you are talking about. You fill misty mate with water. Pump and it sprays a fine mist of water that you can regulate . Its the best. We go every july and its five of us and we just love it. We also sell mini fans (no water) in same isle for $1.00. You would not believe the air they put out. Great for standing in lines and not having to pull out the big water bottle/fan.

Here in Michigan, I have only found them at Bed, Bath & Beyond. However, they do not have straps. Someone told me that the ones at Disney have a strap -- does anyone know????

I just purchased mine today. Modell's (the sporting goods store) had them. They were $7.99 and came with a strap.

Do the misting fans sold at WDW have a strap on them to make them easier to carry? I thought that when I went to DL in CA in the past I saw people with Mickey misting fans that had straps and I want one with a strap. DH and I saw some misting fans at Target the other day for about $3, but they were small and didn't have straps, so I told him I want to keep looking.

Anyone??? Straps on WDW misting fans??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

They definitely have straps. It is adjustable so you can put it around your neck or shorten it and hang it from your stroller handle (if applicable). I think for the $17 they cost, they should come with someone to escort and mist you when needed, but that's just my opinion. :rotfl2:
We bought it and it was actually worth every penny. The last week of May got really hot there and it was well worth the comfort.
Have a magical trip!!!!!! :earsgirl:

Seems like we have to buy them for each trip. DS5 loves to play with them when we're home and they always get dropped, tossed, run over with the bikes, etc.! I've had no problem finding them around here, and we live in the middle of nowhere! Seriously, we have to drive an hour to get to Walmart!!!

I don't care if we look goofy (gwarsh!!) or not, we are always glad to have them. We are going in July, even though we swore we'd never do that again, so I think they'll be put to good use!

I've also purchased some small, battery operated personal fans for the kids' goody bags I'm putting together for the drive down. They are small enough to put into a hip pouch and have soft blades so we don't put someone's eye out! :rotfl:

I finally found mister fans at Walmart, I bought the last 2 that they had. We did manage to get 2 different colours, red and blue. These do not have straps though.

EBAY!!! fantastic idea!! I have been scouring my walmart and such and have come up with not many options... I used really small pocket fans one summer trip, it looked like a bullet and the blades were made out of rubber. The absolutely best thing ever... small enough to fit in your pocket, but worked "perfectly!" However, we lost it at the end of the trip and I haven't been able to find one since... EBAY here I come! :sunny:

Well, guess what is at our local Wal-Mart,Yep the misters and they have them for $4.96, Jeez the season is coming to an end here in the words of retail..They must of gotten them in late I may pick up a couple of extra ones for future trips.. :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

I bought a really cute one at Christmas Tree shop for $1.00 yesterday.
They have the plain small fans that are like the ones they sell at Disney with the light up front section that makes all kind of strobe designs.
the one I bought is a small hand held fan with a small water bottle attached. The bottle is 3 1/2 inches tall and about 3 inches around. the entire fan unit stands6 inches tall andabout 3 inches wide. It has a little black foam fan attached that is3 inches wide.It was cheap and I did have to make a few improvements to it such as gluing the little pegs that hold the bottle to the fan. I had to glue them to the bottle because when you remove the bottle the pegs pop off and if you lose one you cant attach the bottle to the fan. And I also glued in the little mister squirter thing because it popped out once and I didn't want to lose it at the parks. I used model airplane glue and it works fine now. Don't get the glue into the little holes, just glue around it.
The come in lots of different colors of clear plastic. I got a red one with Black fan and white sprayer.
It is a great pocket sized mister fan. It holds about 1/2 cup of water but you can refill it anywhere they sell sodas or beer by filling it from the ice bin. I will be cool for $1.00. Peggie
