You seem to be saying that gameboy really shouldn't criticize Sarah Palin for not knowing Africa is a continent and not a country (which I don't believe she did), when he himself doesn't know that.

I believe the title of the thread is accurate....but I freely admit my typos, as i am a two finger bandit......I stand corrected, for the first time in my life I now know africa is a continent....thank you all

I think the Republican party is trying to figure out what it stands for. Is it the limited appeal party of Sarah Palin appealing to the anti-intellectual, right wing religious party or is it the big tent party of Ronald Reagan appealing to a broad coalition of fiscally and socially conservative party?

I personally don't think they will get very far with Sarah Palin as their leader--she it too divisive and her philosophy is an echo of the late 19th century religious conservatism that placed an emphasis on ignoring intellectual thought in favor of following one's own interpretation of Providence.

My hope is that the Republican party regenerates itself and new leadership emerges that brings back the big tent.

There are certain things I do believe about Obama. There is proof. I heard his preacher. I know what Louis Farakhan believes in and he is a friend of his also. There are things that cannot be denied. However, there are things that are just said about him that I do not buy into, yes.

In your OP you have stated that that you can't believe that palin did not know Africa was a country. It is a continent. Whoops. maybe you forgot that lesson from 3rd grade also.

I'm done with this though. I am not looking forward to 4 years from now at this point. I am looking forward to seeing what Obama brings to the table. I am NOT ready to pounce on him, I am ready to be united and move forward. Our country needs to worry about the here and now and not who the election will be about in 4 years from now. We have bigger fish to fry.

If you want to sit here on the CB and rip Palin apart go right ahead. It is a free country and if Pete says it is OK, then fine by me. I am just disgusted with McCain's staff and disgusted with a lot of people here who only want to tear down and be negative. For me, the election is over and now we need to get down to business. This country has a lot of healing to do.

She is....so was Dan Quayle....the question is what does she do with it from here....Politics is no longer a game of just packaging...With a 24 hour news cycle and constant media attention, candidates need to be able to stand in the harsh spotlight of the campaign. After certain conservatives pointed out your error, at around 11:46p, you went back and fixed your OP with the correct information, at 11:52p.

At 12:07a, you reasert your claim about Sarah Palin, owing your own errors to two finger typing. And for the record, your OP was not a spelling error, but a significant error in fact.

Could it possibly be, even remotely, that the error accorded to Sarah Palin was simply a mistake in the message received by the "anonymous source"? That she never said this thing at all, but that's how the source for this story perceived it?

Should we afford Sarah Palin the same respect in accepting an explanation, just as you seek here?

And having experienced this now, it does not give you any pause in your attacks on Palin? Can you not see how an honest mistake taken out of context, or pounced on by your enemies, could make it appear that you do not know something that you quite obviously do know? This doesn't cause you to hesitate in the least? I guess that wouldn't fit with your preconceived narrative.

Not according to the report...no...I would imagine it was a direct question as was the question about nafta.

It is simply intellectually dishonest to believe that Palin is not aware that Africa is a continent and not a country. And I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt that you know that. If you cannot admit that, I'm left with no choice but to assume that you are so filled with hate and intolerance that it prevents you from seeing the obvious.
