What pins to take to Florida. I have three bags and one bag is really just old Le's Wondering if it is worth taking down.
My other bag is the good and new traders.
How are they handling carrying pins on the plane. Or should I pack them,.
Third bag is the bag I make up for John to give pins away.
Perplexed.

I know they just changed the regulations so things like nail clippers and tweezers CAN be brought on. They also changed it so not you may only bring one piece of carry on luggage and a small personal bag/briefcase sized item, i.e. a pocket book, briefcase or laptop. I think you could bring a pin bag but I would definetly check with the airline, and arrive really early.

Have a nice trip!

Shirley...Dom's advice is right on! Arrive very early and be prepared for your pins to be examined. We just returned from WDW several days ago. I was not comfortable checking my pins through because I was not sure how they would appear upon xray scanning and I wanted to be able to explain what they were, if they were questioned. I had visions of the bag being confiscated and left behind while I traveled on to Florida. I carried my pins on and they were carefully examined at the xray counter. We were only delayed about fifteen minutes and the nice man said he understood collections. (He has coins!) I felt better having them in my possession and didn't mind the delay.
As far as the old LEs are concerned, weigh (hahaha) the options.....their weight and bulk, along with those that you're sure you'll need. If you're carrying on, this is a factor. Have a great trip!! Only 46 days until we're back!!!

You guys are still the greatest. I don't think I will take that big heavy bag you know the killer one disney put out.
I am gong to use the disney store bag and carry it on. I did call the airlines and she read me the whole list and there was nothing about pins in there.
Advise was take it in a bag that can be locked and if they refuse me just lock it up and hope for the best.

Got back from WDW on Monday. Going down (from Dullas - Washington DC) 2 security people and one supervisor looked at every pin in my carry-on and decided that they could go on the plane. At Orlando airport they just looked at a few of the pins - of course there were 2 young men with guns standing next to the security checker! The Disney Stores inside the gates were selling pins - so I guess there not a problem. Just be prepared for the look of 'horror' if the person at the x-ray machine doesn't know what's in the bag! Also - I was wearing a Disney Flag pin so I could point to them when I let them know what they were looking at! I would get to the airport at least 2 hours early. Be sure to have identification with you - they check before going through the lines. Have a great time!

Judy Sue...you're right on the money! MCO barely looked at my pins. I was also wearing a Mickey flag. Providence, on the other hand, was very careful. I didn't mind the delay. I'm sure we'd all rather be safe than sorry. I will tell you that although they checked my pins very carefully, they neglected to say anything about the small pair of scissors and nail clippers I had in my carryon, also.

Thanks for the info. I'll be leaving out of dulles in 10 days and have been struggling with how to handle my pins. I have started making an itemized list of all of the pins I'm carrying. Hopefully I'll get done before I leave. But, I'm wondering, will there be anyone to trade with??

Is everyone reading this that we can at least wear a pin on our shirt without them confiscating it? I have a special Mickey patriotic pin from Toyko DL and I like wearing it, but don't know whether to wear it or pack it. Any advice? I certainly don't want them to take it from me....I paid a higher price for it as the money went to the relief fund, which I was glad to do, but don't want anyone suggesting they should keep it.

Wear your pin, proudly. I've flown twice since September 11 and both my husband and I were wearing pins, mine on my shirt, his on his hat, and nothing was said. My children flew two days later, both wearing pins, and again were not even questioned. Have a great trip!! 43 days to go.......
