I've been wanting to buy DVC for years now and it looks like 2004 will be the year. I was just in Vegas this weekend and was approached to do a timeshare tour for $100, so why not. I was wondering what other places had to offer. After the whole sales pitch I explained that my first purchase would be DVC but maybe I'd be interested in an additional week elsewhere after that. They said they could trade me into WDW, and I know how hard that is to do with the companies that do trade into WDW but this wasn't even one of them. They couldn't understand why I needed to stay on property when they were offering me a "better deal" and I could stay close. I thought this was just part of their pitch but when I was in line to get my money I heard my sales person talking about it to another sales person and they both seemed puzzled.
I guess either you get Disney or you don't, it really amused me.

I know the feeling - a mile from WDW is a Mile from WDW - these places also don't have WDW transportation if they have anything it is not free and there hours are silly - who wants to come home before the night time show????

there are lot of us who want to stay on WDW property period.

I have been to several timeshares sales when they say (wrongly) that they could even trade into DVC. (yea right!!)

the Marriott in Orlando - generally offer tickets -I got2 - 3-day 2park passes to Us/IOA - they also offer a 1day pass to SW or to any WDW park -
