I haven't bought a Keurig because of the contribution to the landfills, BUT, I saw a permanent filter on TV today in one of those, only on TV ads. Does Keurig have permanent filters so you can make your own one cup brewer with the coffee of your choice? Right now, I use a Melita for one cup but it's a pain to heat the water in the microwave, pour it throught the Melita into the cup and wait for it to brew/drip through the Melita. Could be convinced to buy a Keurig or other brand of similar brewer-especially since our current coffee maker's pot just broke.

another Diser recommended ekobrew and I love it! it just slips right in. I ordered it from ebay for $10

They do. They are called My K cup. You can buy them all over..Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond Etc..

I love my Keurig. I am also happy to see some companies are now using a paper like filter instead of the plastic cups. One is New England Coffee. Should be a little more eco friendly that way.:)

I bought some Cafe Cups, they are refillable hard plastic K-Cups. They come in a pack of four for $9.99.Saw them on tv but found them at Walgreens on the " as seen on tv" endcap.

They are the best. I have saved about $30.00 a month in buying K-cups from Amazon ( HUGE coffee drinkers here ) .

They wash well...mine show no effects of use after 2 months...

So glad I found these, I bought extras and gave them to friends...and they are hooked too.

Yes, we have tried the My K Cup as well as the Eko Brew, and they both work fine. I have also noticed that the New England coffees are the paper filter now vs plastic cup, and they brew up just the same. The only issue is that they fall out of my k cup storage rack fairly often. I would imagine that more vendors will start up with the paper filter because I would imagine that the plastic cup covering a paper filter isn't super cost effective.

I have a Keurig B130 machine. Its one of the smaller ones and all the refillable kcups say they don't work with this model. Anyone have a refillable one that works with the small models?

Thanks

Just a word of warning - if you want a k-cup insert to work properly, you need to use finely ground coffee. If you use a coarse ground coffee, or grind your own, you will need to re-grind it to something closer to a french roast grind for it to work in the personal k-cup.

:thumbsup2 I love these too! so easy to use!

Mine came with the My K-cup. I wasn't crazy about it. I do go back and forth between my own coffee and k-cups and thought it was a pain to remove the plastic sleeve in between uses.

We have a stainless steel ekobrew and love it. It works in the k-cup basket. With Keurig's my-k-cup, you have to remove the basket to use it.

Thank you for the warning. I was going to comment that I did not care for our My K Cup because I can never get the coffee strong enough, but maybe this is why. I've tried to use it with pre-ground coffee from the store.

Starbucks will grind it that way for you. :)

I've got the ekobrew also .... I love it! I ordered it from Amazon for abour $8.50 (I think). We got my parents a Keurig for Christmas and I also added the ekobrew for them. My mom is now buying bags of ground coffee and using the ekobrew and she LOVES hers too. :thumbsup2

Keurig has their own reusable one called My K-Cup or something like that. I had read quite a lot of bad reviews about that one so I kept looking. A generic - Solofil - got a lot of great reviews and it was also cheaper than Keurig's reusable cup. I got one for my mom but she hasn't used it yet so I can't give a good or bad review on it.

I use the my k-cup with my small kurig and it works fine. Never had any problems with any coffee being too course or fine.

I have a Keurig, and use a Solofil cup to brew my own brand coffee. It takes more coffee to brew the same strength as my one cup Black & Decker, (actually, the filter only holds so much, so I just make a smaller mug) but I really like it. I also use K-cups about half the time.

Love my Keurig!

I do have the ecobrew but really prefer the my-cap which is a plastic ring that goes into the top of the regular K-cup. I just take the K-cups after I am done with them and rip off the foil cover and scoop out the grounds and just rinse it out and dry it so I can reuse it.

I have not had issues with my regular ground coffee and I don't know if that is because of using the my-cap or not?

This is intriguing. I convinced myself not to buy a keurig because of the rubbish issue and the price per pound of coffee.

I think my mum will be thrilled when she sees a new Keurig with a reusable k cup. Yay!

Just wanted to say the Ekobrew is also made in the USA, right here in CT.

We don't have a Keurig, we have Nespresso, but I have seen the Ekobrew's sold at Whole foods.
