We have never gone twice in one year, but are planning a vacation for December and then my brother wants us to go with them in August again!!! (he asked several times if I mind going twice in one year, hahahahahaha little does HE know!!!)

We will probably be there 10 to 12 days in all, and it's been suggested that I buy an AP. I looked at the prices and it looks like it's "about" the same price for the tickets, but perhaps with the discounts the AP may be a better deal. Where can I save money with them and how much on the average??? We always stay "on Disney". Thanks.

We have APs, and have realized that they save us big money over the year...

Park passes are $50 a day. a 4 Day hopper is $200ish. So they're not offering any savings there.. The APs run, what, $400 ish? So that means, if you go 8 days, you break even... Any more than that (and you said you're going 10-12 days over the year) means you'll save about $200-400 dollars. That's pretty significant if you ask me ! :)

I think the discounts you can get as an AP holder are listed in the little booklet that comes with the AP - 10% of dinner here, 15% of tours there, etc etc. Mine is currently locked up in my Firesafe at home, so I can't read it for you. :)

I hope that helps even a little bit! :)

Can anyone tell me what might be offered for "Resort Deals". We stay "on Disney", but next summer my brother is talking about off Disney. I've been checking into some things and I'm just wondering what kind of a deal I might be offered at a Disney resort with AP's???

I also have the Disney Visa, but so far they have really not offered anything special as far as accomodations go, although I guess it just came out and time will tell.

Check mousesavers.com There is a list of the current AP rates for this summer, and it will give you an idea on what to expect to pay for a room with an AP for next summer.

I don't use the AP for accomodations because we have access to SoG, but we do use it for discounts for lunch at the resorts restaurants. Also if you stay ofsite you get free parking with your AP. And I just got 25% off of 2 Cirque du Soliel tickets! (only 2 tickets allowed for each AP - runs from June 8 to Oct ?) As I will be spending about about 30 days this year at WDW (we are doing two Feb trips.'03 and '04, and one August trip) the APs were definitely worth it!! Takes care of my vacation plans for 2003 AND 2004!

We are PAP holders. To give you an idea of savings at on-site resorts: last year we stayed at CSR for $84 per night in late may/early june. this year, we have booked CSR for $74 per night in mid june and have booked ASMo for $59 per night during the same period. about a 40% savings as opposed to regular rack rates. If you are going for more than 10 days during any 12 month period; the AP is the way to go. P.S. we choose the PAP bacause it also offers unlimited visits to the water parks, disney quest and pleasure island.
