Invariably, you'll find me at Disneyland on the weekends Periscoping. For those who haven't heard of Periscope, it's a live-video feed associated with Twitter where someone will record something and others can see it live. The recording lasts for 24 hours and then it's deleted.

Is there anything you would like to see Periscoped? Note that this is done on an iPhone, so dark rides, like Haunted Mansion and Pirates don't come out so great, and sometimes the connection comes and goes (surprise ;) ) in the park. But for the most part, it's fun to do and to watch.

So far, I've Periscoped:

Disneyland
- Main Street vehicles: Omnibus from upper level (a few times), horse carriage ride (a few times), and fire engine
- Main Street (Flag Retreat - a few times), Soundsational Parade, and Paint the Night Parade
- Main Street Candy Palace - making candy canes and other candy
- Main Street Band in front of castle
- Mad Hatter & Alice playing musical chairs with guests at Coke Corner
- Adventureland: Tarzan's Treehouse
- Fantasyland: Casey Jr. Circus Train, Storybook Land Canal Boats, and it's a Small World
- Frontierland: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

California Adventure
- Pixar Play Parade
- Turtle Talk with Crush
- Paradise Pier & watching California Screamin' take off

I love watching Disneyland Periscopes! How do I find you on there? I'll have to think about what I would like to see. I keep thinking of things, but they don't lend themselves very well to the Periscope format.

Also... dumb question, but how do you get on the Main Street vehicles? I've never really thought much about them, but this next trip, my daughter and I are going to try to do some things we've never done before. I know the basic route, and I've seen the end points, but how do you line up for them. I don't think that I've ever noticed a line for them. Thanks!

I love seeing all the Disneyland stuff. Since I'm on the east coast I haven't made it out yet so this is a nice substitute until I can get there. :)

I'm maryjomw on Periscope. The Main Street vehicles leave from either end of Main Street for a one-way trip. You can find them by the entrance to the Railroad and in front of City Hall. When we were kids we never did spend that A ticket to get on them, and when my kids were young we were always in a hurry to get on the attractions. Now I like to ride them for a leisurely trip down Main Street. There rarely is a line. You just stand by the sign and when the vehicle comes you can get on.

Keep in mind they put them away around 2pm.

Thanks for the info Mary Jo! We're going during the really busy week after Easter, so we're trying think outside of the box on what we do. I think these will be a fun addition to our list!

And I've followed you on Periscope... can't wait to see your next one!

Awesome! and thank you :teeth:

That sounds really cool! This is a little off-topic, but how much data does that use?

I'd thought about doing that so the grandkids can see fireworks at night, but wasn't sure if there's enough bandwidth available to do it. Also not sure if my phone can do a good job with a night exposure. Will have to try it.

I think it uses a lot. I know it uses a lot of batteries, but I have a couple of external and unlimited data, so I take advantage of it. One of the issues I run into, though, is the connectivity. Most times it's good, but sometimes it comes and goes.

We were watching the parade and fireworks Saturday night and looking at all the periscope feeds on the map around us as we waited. So fun. We're following you. *That sounds ominous. :)
