Perfume

Can anyone tell me as I am a little confused, can perfume/aftershave be bought duty free and taken into the US? With the current restrictions, with the relaxing on certain items I remain unclear on duty free bought at the airport of on the plane

Reports are saying that at the moment nothing that is liquid, gel, food can be taken into the US. It also said that no duty free can be boughht and taken into the Us yet either, however I know some people who have flown back and were allowed to but DF on the way back. When do you fly, things are changing everyday at the minute.

I don't go until Dec so I am hoping things will have changed by then, but my sister in law goes on Friday

Not a problem. We were surprised at the price difference between here and the Us. We found that the duty free is much cheaper in the Us airports so this year we are planning to get them on the way home

My understanding is that you can buy DF on the plane, or at the airport if it is sealed & sent to the gate (like at orlando). I fly on Monday & have preodered a bottle of JD (will buy a bottle at MCO to bring home). Only ordered yesterday & that was fine.

Hi

Just to let you know I have phone Virgin this morning and you still cannot take liquids or gels in your hand luggage to the US even if purchased duty free at the airport on on the flight, the only place you can is currently on the way back to the UK at US airports and then only if it is purchased from the Duty Free shops then put in a sealed bag and delivered to you as your board the aircraft

Apparently Virgin anticipate this rule being in place for a while yet.
