Perferred Parking

Hi all,

We were visiting IOA this past weekend and saw a sign for perferred parking/handicap parking. Any idea how you get perferred parking?

You pay extra for it - I think it was about $4 or $5 over the regular parking of $8.

Ask the parking attendant at the gate to the parking structures and you will be directed to the proper area.

Parking prices:

Regular: $8
Preferred: $12
Valet: $8 (under 2 hours), $16 (over 2 hours)

AP holders get regular parking for free, $4 for Preferred, and 1/2 off valet.

I want to know how to get that perferred parking where you park right in the middle of the garage walkway hub.

If you get there early enough and pay for regular parking you will be right next to the perferred parking. It's not really that great.

What is the difference between preferred parking and valet parking?

With the valet parking you park under the parking strusture next to the movie theatre. You just take the escallator up and you are almost in City Walk area. Preferred is in the regular parking lot but on the third level.

We've done the preferred parking a few times but realized its not really worth it. We have a 1 year old with a stroller and thought it would be nice not having to find and wait for the elevator.
The only advantage I saw was that you park on the same level as the entrance area. In other words you never have to take the escalator or elevator. You still may have to park at the far end of the garage. In fact every time we did prefered parking, it seems, we were in the farthest parking space.
However, I found we had a better chance of parking close to the elevator when we didn't do prefered parking.

By the way, we have never had to wait more than a few seconds for an elevator.
