Perfectly Princess tea party- Is it worth it?

We will be in WDW for my dd 6th birthday. I have a reservation for the two of us @ Perfectly Princess tea party. We have never done this before and I think she is the right age for it. My concern is the fact my daughter will not eat any of the food! She is a picky kid eater and will not eat jelly sandwiches and might pick the ham off the ham and cheese. She might eat a cupcake if it is not chocolate?

Since I pretty much know she will not really eat, is the whole experience worth it? She's into dolls (AG Dolls) and princesses (though she would tell you she is a little old- until we are there). I tried CRT but no luck and we have eaten in Norway with the princesses already.

Each trip (we go every year) we do one thing special each trip so this would be our one big thing to do!

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Gail

Hi!

We just returned from our family's 5th trip to WDW (DH and I have been more times than that, but I mean with our kids, who are now teens), and while we have never done this princess tea party specifically, I want to share with you our general feeling about spending our money at Disney.

Let's face it, it costs a fortune, especially when you add in special events, such as this one. But the memories we have made over the years have been absolutely priceless, and never once have we walked away from a single event and said "Wow, that really was a rip-off." Almost every single time, we say, "Boy, was that worth EVERY PENNY!"

Your daughter turns 6 once, and this sounds like a wonderful opportunity to make the day extra special. I don't think the event is really about the food after all, and she may surprise you when it's in the moment and she sees everyone else enjoying it. If she doesn't eat, have some of her favorite snack foods in your bag to give her afterwards (bringing some from home for "just-in-case" scenarios doesn't cost much and can save quite a bit of stress).

Personally, I would say "go for it," but you need to do what your gut instinct dictates. Whatever you decide, have a wonderful celebration!

Thanks! I do have the reservation and I think 6 is the perfect age for it! At think point I do plan to go unless I can somehow get into CRT through a cancellation.

If you can justify the cost, I think you should do it...

It's really not about the food, anyway.

I took my twin nieces there a couple of years ago (they were 7 at the time) and they are still talking about it.

Don't forget the video camera ! Have fun...

I would have never thought of taking video...

Thanks!:)

I took my oldest DGDs, a few years ago. It was magical! The Tea was expensive, but worth the once in a lifetime experience. The package seems to be much the same, except for the individual cake.

Oh, and make sure your daughter dresses as her favorite princess:

My daughter loved it. All of the grumbles about it are not without merit, but my daughter talks about it to this day (two years later) fondly and likes to look back at the pictures, as do we. I'd say go for it!

I just did this with my DD6 on friday 8/6 and it was magical! There were only 6 little girls total and they were all made to feel very special.

My DD is also a picky eater. She doesn't drink apple juice and when they poured the "tea" she made a face. I asked if she could have chocolate milk for tea and theywere very accomodating and brought a little teapot filled with chocolate milk right away. When the sandwiches came, she once again made a face and I asked if they could bring her a sandwich of just cheese. Again, they were very accomodating . It took a little while (and I think if I had thought about this ahead of time, I could have requested it in advance and they would have had it ready), but when they came back they brought her a beautiful platter with small triangles of cheese sandwiches, some orange cheese and some yellow cheese, arranged beautifully with fruit. (I felt bad later because DD was so excited and preoccupied with the whole experience that I think she ate only one of those little triangles.

I agree with the poster who said to bring your video camera. I took some videos with my camera and honestly, I can't stop watching them. DD was so excited (at times she was so excited and so happy that watching her brought tears to my eyes several times) with the whole thing and the more I watch it, I have to say the whole thing is beautifully done and is a memory that I think both of us will treasure always.

We have done CRT in the past and I have to say you cannot compare the two in any way. CRT is nowhere near as special as this. At times it seemed like a crazy free-for-all and DH and I left there very frustrated with the whole thing considering what that costs.

I felt the money spent for the Perfectly Princess Tea was very well spent. Please go and enjoy every moment with your DD. You will not regret it!
