So I'm interested in this for DD who will be turning 4 during our November trip. It looks like something she'd enjoy but the price tag seems a bit steep. $335 for 1 adult + 1 child and an additional $100 for another adult. So $435 for me, DH and DD.

We probably paid about this last year for CRT and most likely will again this year but something about the tea party has me hesitating to fork over that much dough for a tea party.

Anyone been and care to share their experience? Thanks.

I feel like someone reviewed that pretty recently. They get a doll and a sash/crown. I don't think that's something I would shell $300 out for, personally. I can recommend the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian though. They have a children's "tea" but it might just be hot cocoa. It was kinda pricey but a really nice experience. Maybe she can get all dressed up in a princess gown and have tea with you guys instead. Much cheaper!

Is it the tea party experience you are looking for, or the "princess" part? There's a Wonderland Tea Party with Alice and it's much cheaper. I have no experience with it though so I don't have details.

You paid approx. $435.00 for CRT for 2 adults and one child??? Yes, they are outrageously expensive, but not that much!

Yes, I agree, the PPTP is way over priced and overrated.

If I had a daughter I would probably do it, but I'd make it a mother/daughter experience instead of paying for the extra adult.

I brought my DD when she was four. We decided to have DH and DS do something else due to the expense. I'm glad we did it once, and I have great photos and memories with her. At the time, she loved Aurora, and she wore her Aurora dress to the tea. There were four other little girls there with their moms. Most of them had a princess dress on too! There are two characters, Rose Petal, who sings the whole story to them before the tea and sandwiches, accompanied by the Barron on the piano.

The girls tea was some kind of juice and the tea was nice. They also served a special cake that took two people to carry in. Afterwards, they had the little girls parade through the Grand Floridian lobby, which was fun. They do give each girl an Aurora doll and a bracelet.

There is a really good description of the tea on the AllEars site. The dining in Cinderella's castle is probably the best disney experience for little girls, but this was a good special mother-daughter experience if that is what you are looking for.

I took my daughter when she was 6. It was wonderful! But it was only $250.00 at the time. I have another daughter that will be six in a few years, I was hoping to take her too, but not at that cost and some things are no longer the same.

But guilt may do me in and I'm sure it will be 500 by then.

I say go for it if money is not an issue. The girls really love it.

We did it on the last day of our trip when my daughter was 5yo. It was a sweet girlie experience.

I took my dgd when she was 5 and thought that our experience was with the cost. It was a nice time for just ysctwo

If money was no object, would I do it? Yes. That said, at the current price, it's not affordable for us.

My first "Plan B" was to do afternoon tea at GF with my daughter. I knew she would enjoy the fancy atmosphere just as much without a princess.

When we decided to go dining plan, "Plan C" is now dinner at 1900 Park Fare. This way, we get a princess dining experience that's included in the plan. We plan to go early for the new princess procession they do with Cinderella and the Prince. I think that + 1900 PF will make a great princess experience at GF for less money.

1900 PF is one of my favorite experiences! Your Princess will really enjoy this!

So i was debating this however that is a steep price. Hard to justify when only 2 of our family of 5 would be doing it. We have a late 1900 breakfast that I have booked, but my dd loves to have tea. So thinking I might change to the regular tea, not sure if it will be filling though. Honestly I was thinking you could do the tea and give her an AG doll and put it in an elsa dress and still come out way ahead. Just missing princess Aurora.

No, this is not just a sleeping beauty tea. It was really a story with Rise. I am not telling you to go, but saying you cannot reduce the experience to a tea that is lacking Aurora. It is much more than that

I did this with my daughter and my Mom about 18 months ago. My daughter was four at the time. I am so thankful I was able to have this experience! If you are able to comfortably afford it, do it! You cannot in anyway recreate this experience by putting your child in a princess dress with an AG girl or anything similar. That is not to say you couldn't go have tea with your daughter and also have a wonderful time but it would not be the same as this experience.
At the beginning, each girl is "presented" by Rose Petal and you are escorted to your table. You are served tea and sandwiches, cheese and cookies. There are several songs and stories told by Rose Petal. Aurora comes out and stops at your table and takes the time to sit down and talk to you and give an autograph. The child also gets a rose, bracelet and Aurora doll. When we went all the girls got up and sang Let it Go with Aurora and Rose Petal, which was adorable!
At the end, the girls go on a Princess Parade all through the Grand Floridian lobby and then they take several professional photographs. My daughter truly loved this experience and it has been her favorite thing she has ever done at Disney. In fact, we are going back in a few weeks and she wanted to do it again! We had to settle for a breakfast at Cinderella's Castle! Lol! It was just too over the top to do it twice at least this close together. I may let her do it again when she is about 7 if she still wants to. I think it would be a different experience for a 7 year old vs a 4 year old.

Aww that does sound adorable. Thanks for the detailed experience. Honestly I did not know the details of the experience, but had only read bits and pieces your detail experience was the best I have read. Now you are going to have me saving up to do this. My dd would eat that up! Plus she loves tea. How was a the food and tea? The castle does not interest me as much but this does.

Just as character meals are moe about the experience than the food, this experience is moe about the details than the food. The "tea" for the children is apple juice, IIRC, but is served in fina China. The food is truely finger sandwiches, etc, and while it is tasty, you cannot compare it to a real meal. The tea is all about the story line, the kids and the details that make children feel very special.

Yes, the kids' tea is apple juice while the adults choose from a selection of tea. However, I thought our food was great! It is sandwiches and cookies and biscuits, etc that you would expect at a tea and isn't heavy food but was very good quality, especially in comparison to other restaurants at Disney. Yes, I personally think you get much more for your money with this experience than you do typical character experiences. However, I totally understand it is very expensive and is not in everyone's budget. I'm so glad you found the review helpful!
