Does anybody know what percentage of DCL passengers are return cruisers? Looking at signatures and reading threads here on the DIS makes it seem that the percentage would be high but I'm sure that is skewed by the fact that most here are Disney nuts!

Maybe there's a TA out there that has that info?

Disney "nuts", you say???!!!!

Ok, I guess I am a 'nut' & I do love Disney!

The only stats I remember are that HAL has (apparently) the highest percentage of repeat cruisers, and DCL has the highest percentage of first-time cruisers.

We were onboard the Easter 2004 Magic and Captain told everyone at the Castaway Club reception that 800 passengers were repeat Disney cruisers. That would work out to approx. 33%.

I believe that was around the number they gave at our reception too...a LOT of the people I tlaked with were return cruisers or were rebooking while on board.

most here are Disney nuts!
I resemble that remark.

DCL has the highest percentage of first-time cruisers.
In the beginning (first 4 years of opperation) I would agree. I would guess that it's not true anymore. How did the repo cruises sell out so quickly - not by first timer's I'll bet. Those cruises are going to be 95+% repeat DCL cruisers. Maybe DCL will just have a day where "everything" (read drinks) is free since we'll all be on our 2nd, 3rd or 12th cruise with DCL. Almost every room will have a returning cruiser gift (hope it's not the towels and pins:smooth: )

On our upcomming cruise I think my question of our tablemates won't be "Is this your first cruise with DCL?" it'll be "How many DCL cruises have you been on?":earsboy: :earsgirl:

When we cruised on the Magic in October 2003 we were told that about 1/3 of the ship was return cruisers so I'll agree with Hans Solo.

I think DCL made the california trips to get more repeat cruisers as pepole wanted to go again but didnt want to be limited to the same ports.

They did miss a trick as extending the carribean trips would have done it, however they wanted to tie it in with the Disneyland 50th party.

But as mentioned above looking at the way the west coast cruises sold out quickly and the cruise meet threads you can see there is a very high percentage of repeat cruisers going.

the 7 day have a higher number of repeat cruisers

the 6/3 wonder only had 200 repeat guests

Tony

atigeg, we fit that profile having started out with two 4 day cruises we now have our second 7 day booked. Though I would never turn down a 3 or 4 day cruise my preference is for the 7 day.

We do Travel agency work we have our own. Repeats are about 25% in our experience. One thing to keep in mind only 15% of the population has ever been on a cruise of any type. When they take there first one 80% book another within 3 months. Crazy numbers.

I'm a statistic, I booked another within 3 months and will hopefully be booking a Western Disney real soon.

Thats us EXACTLY!!

And then there's us. We booked our second Disney Cruise before we even went on our first!!! We have cruised before on RCCL but we are very, very excited to go with DCL this time. And when we saw the Panama Canal Cruise avaiable thru Disney, we just had to book! I am sure DCL will be our all time favorite.

We are indeed "Disney NUTS!!!":earsgirl: :earsboy:
