Can anyone tell me what's the del with the Pepper Market? Is it counter service or do you get a server? Do you order your food and a server brings it to you? I just don't know how it works.

Upon arrival you are given a card which you then get stamped at each station.

Your server takes you to your table and takes your drinks order.

In theory your server then returns to refill your drinks. In practice in the 8 or so times we have visited this has only ever happened once.

You then visit each station (shopping mall type lay out) and order whatever you want. Some will be ready prepared e.g. breakfast, kids, salads etc. Others such as Pizza you will be asked to return in say 10 minutes.

You then carry your meal to your table.

Upon finishing you take your stamped receipt from each counter to the checkout and pay for what you have used plus theoretically a 10% tip although this seems to be hit and miss.

If you prefer upon arrival you can ask for take out and eat outside at CSR or in your room - no tip charged.

The pizza and salads are good. We have never eaten anything else there that is any better than ok and mostly not good at all (we call there on our day home for convenience not out of choice).

Those looking for big $$$ value out of DDP will I know disagree as you can have a largeish meal for CS credit. However, it may say steak or similar but it is not a good steak IMHO.

We stayed at CSR last summer and all liked the Pepper Market. We always got the food to go because it was so nice out and we loved to sit at a table next to the water and enjoy our food. It was so much nicer outside with the pretty view than at the indoor tables. We never sat inside so never dealt with the servers.

We've eaten at the Pepper Mkt many, many times and loved it everytime. We had the steak, the Mexican station (fajitas!) and the Chinese station which I believe has changed. It is a little time consuming, but the portions are large.

Our experience with the Pepper Market was good food and large portions. The arrangement/serving system is unorthodox, but once you've been through it it's O.K. The prices are high, but if you are on a dining plan it seems like a bargain. We were on QSDP, and the cashier never added a tip to our bill. One waiter "explained" (i.e., asked) that we were to leave a tip. None of the others ever did. I believe, based on all the research I have done, that tips are included on QSDP; not sure about DDP or above.

We ordered steaks three times, and all were good. However, as one poster above said, your steak may not be to your standards. I think it might be the luck of the draw, who's cooking in that station, etc. Ours were quite good - not prime, but probably select - but on QSDP you are basically paying $10.00 for your meal, so to expect prime would be asking a lot. The other entrees we had at Pepper Market were comparable to mid-priced family restaurants, so pretty good overall.

We used the DDP at the PM and loved it. Both times we ate inside our server came back and filled out drinks a couple times. If you eat inside, they add a 10% gratuity on to your check, but you don't pay it if you're on the DP.

Does anyone have pictures of the outdoor seating? Are there many tables outside or just a few?
Thanks

Loved the Pepper Market. Portions are large, there is a large selection, and the food is really quite good. We've eaten there several times and never had a problem with servers not refilling our drinks......our servers were always very pleasant and attentive no matter what time of day we were there. We were on the dining plan so we never had to pay the 10% gratuity. It's our favorite CS in all of WDW. I think because the food there is just plain yummier compared to any of the other CS locations we've been to. And yes, the steak there is good. :thumbsup2

There are several outdoor tables and when we were there (mid-December) they were never all taken or even close to all being taken. But there wasn't any big conventions when we were there either, so that probably had something to do with it. Most of the people seemed to sit inside. We however, ate outside a couple of times.

There are a few tables (about 6-8 tables) right outside the doors of the Pepper Market (located right next to the building) - they would be to the left of this photo. But next to the lake, there are many more tables. I took a picture of the table seating next to the lake (below), but this picture doesn't even show the entire area. There are more tables to the right which this picture doesn't show.

Hope that helps. :)

We really enjoyed it when we went there last summer... good variety of food, and everyone enjoyed it.

hmmm, that is in the Animal Kingdom resort area right? So say I wanted to get there from ASMo, would I take a bus to AK and then a bus to Coronado?
