hello...

I am looking for a counter service restaurant for our Animal Kingdom day. I noticed with Tusker House closed, and the Yak and Yeti not open at this point, that there were pretty few dining options. Also, we're going to HDDR that night, so I didn't want ribs, chicken, etc.

I was wondering if leaving the park and going to the Pepper Market would be a good option. It would also give me the opportunity to scope out CSR for a future vacation.

How is the food? Does it get crowded for lunch? Can I get steak with DDP's CS credit? Would you recommend it over the Animal Kingdom CS restaurants?

Just stayed at CSR it's worth checking out! We ate breakfast there twice and it was so good i'm sure lunch/dinner is just as yummy!

They serve a nice ribeye steak.....lots of other options too. I'll be there Saturday for the 30th time!

I would say go! They have a great variety and the food is the best!:thumbsup2

We just had dinner there in June and it was our favorite meal of the trip!

Between all of us we had the fajitas, quesadillas, spaghetti, and 2 other pasta dishes that I can't remember at this point but everyone said that they loved their food!! :thumbsup2

We'll be going back here at least once each trip from now on!

I'd go to AKL and try Mara, but I'm one of the few here who really dislike PM. We're staying at CSR in Sept. for DH's conference and I have already planned on how to avoid PM at all cost!

I agree. It's my least favorite Disney restaurant. It's pretty easy to hop on a bus to any Disney resort. If I were looking for something close to AK, I would chose All Star Movies, but if you're considering a stay at CSR (which we like very much), PM is a good idea.

We like the pepper market, it's one of the best meals for a counter service on the ddp and the I believe the tip is included in the ddp, I would think that it would'nt be busy at lunch with most people eating in the parks or possibly the snack bar at the pool, we also ate there for dinner so we could check out the hotel and we are glad we did, we'll be staying there next week! :cool1:

We stayed at CSR for our wedding/honeymoon last year and ate at the Pepper Market a few times. Each time we ate there we had a different group of people with us. While we have had better food elsewhere, it wasn't that bad. It was great to be able to have so many choices and the layout was interesting. One thing that was nice was everybody got something different and we all shared.

Does anyone know if the steak is available for lunch or if it's a dinner only option? I know allears shows it on the lunch/dinner menu but for some reason I seem to recall reading it was dinner??

I like Pepper Market a lot....I find the food to be both very good for quantity and quality. The one drawback is the meal ticket system they use....it can be confusing if you haven't been there before. They have a sign out front indicating how to make it work but if you are not certain, ask a CM.....it could alleviate some unnecessary frustration.

So will we! I chose CSR because I was hoping my mother will enjoy the Pepper Market. It seemed like they had a larger selection of healthy options and do a lot of made to order stuff. She is very careful with her diet. I just hope it's okay!

It is the same menu for lunch & dinner. During our stay in June, we had both the ribeye and the primerib. The ribeye was rather thin yet cooked perfectly and quite good! The primerib was very good-especially with the horseradish drizzle! :thumbsup2
