Pepper Market worth a trip?

We'll be staying at SSR next week on the QSDP. I've heard really good things about the Pepper Market at CSR. Is it worth it to take a slight detour for lunch there, then catch a DTD bus from CSR and then walk back to our room for our midday break??? It looks like it has some great variety.

Of all the meals I have had in Disney, the one I had at the pepper market was my least favorite of all time. You are seated by a host and a waitress takes your drink orders and gets your refills. I didn't like that b/c I drink a lot with meals and I always had to look for her. You then go to what ever station to order your food and wait for it to bring back to your table. I just had a burger and fries - shocking it could be messed up so badly that I couldn't eat half my meal. DH had shrimp cocktail that was very skimpy for the price charged and said not so good. He also had a sandwich that was just ok. I might eat there if I were staying at CSR but I would not make a special trip. I kind of enjoyed the pizza they sold in their grab & go shop next door more then the burger.

From reading Disney boards, this is a love it or hate it type place. Guess which camp I am in?

If you are staying at SSR I would stick with DTD restaurants instead of taking the trip. You have so many choices and variety within your choices at DTD. I could probably eat at Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express everday, we do enjoy it. We did not love PM, but that was just our experience.
My other suggestion is to take the boat from DTD to POR Riverside Mill, for CS, they have a make your own pasta and make your own salad meals that are very good and definately a good use of a CS. Also, a carving meal of either roast beef, or turkey with mashed potatoes and a vegatable served with corn bread. Another great dinner choice for CS.
Plus, the boat ride is really nice from DTD to POR.

We love Pepper Mkt, but then, we also stay at CSR. Having said that, I'm not sure it is worth the trip. As the PP said, you do have two really good choices at DTD. The most for your buck is Wolfgang Express. If, however, you're looking at doing some resort hopping, then by all means, make the trip. Pepper Mkt has its own charm. Check out the menu on allearsnet before you go, so you'll have in mind what you want and can go directly to that station. Oh, and remember, the steak option is ONLY for dinner.

If I didn't have a car I wouldn't go all the way over there just to eat at Pepper Market. If I were planning to take a look at the resort, spend some time, and have a meal there, I might consider it, but just to eat there, no.

I would definitely skip the Pepper Market and do WPE. It's actually worth going out of your way to eat WPE, Pepper Market not so much.

We enjoyed our meal at PM but we were staying at CSR. I honestly don't think that I would make a special trip there especially if I were headed to DTD (too many yummy places there to try).

If you were on the DDP any form and ordered food and ate in the DR at Peppermarket you should have had a 10% gratuity added to your bill which you are supposed to pay oop. If you didn't consider yourself lucky. This is relatively new, though, last year you didn't have to.

We're big CSR fans, but honestly, we noticed PM has slipped between our stay there in 06 and our stay there last November. Choices were more limited and service was indifferent at best. I like it fine if we're staying there, but I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat there.

Could not agree more. The roast beef and mashed potatoes was indeed one of the best meals ive ever had at disney. Pretty sure I went back for a second order.
Pepper Market is an insult.

That's what I was thinking but I settled up our bill there (DH took the kids the gift shop) and all I had was our KTTW card so there is no way I could of paid the 10%. I would have remembered that moment of sheer mortification when money was owed and I had none.

I personally don't think it is worth a trip to the Pepper Market even if you are staying at CSR. Ugh, the food we had there in 1/09 was so bland it was worse than school lunch food. To provide perspective, in the 10X we have been to WDW, all with onsite resort stays and almost every meal at a WDW restuarant, I have only had two bad meals: one at the Pepper Market, and the other at Sci-Fi. You could not pay me to eat at either.
