I've often read about the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs but had never been there. We decided to have lunch there today and I must say I was very disappointed. It is not a place I would ever go back to.

The place is totally unorganized and very understaffed. The food is pricey and at least what we had wasn't all that good. My wife and I both got the chicken quesadillas. We also watched them being made. The mound of seasoned chicken on the grill looked good but they only put a spoon full of it on the quesadilla. However, they did put a ton of cheese on them, way too much cheese. It was served with a small cup of salsa which was thick and dry so that you couldn't actually dip into it or even spread it with a knife on the quesadilla.

My daughter, a vegetarian, had very limited choices besides a salad. She ordered the kids meal mac and cheese, which she said was cold.

DD and I went up to get dessert. The dessert area is pretty big but there was only one CM working the whole area, and she was at the one end serving ice cream. DD and I (and a few others) were waiting to get danish and cake, but there was nobody there to serve it until that one CM finally came over and helped us.

The worst part came when we checked out. We've been here at Disney since 8/15 and this lunch was the most expensive meal we've had so far this trip. It was absolutely not worth it at all.

Around here people have a love hate relationship with Peppermarket. As for me I agree with all you have said. For us totally not worth it and when staying at CSR I have actually driven to an all star to use the food court.

We just returned from our first stay at CSR (from Aug 16 thru Aug 22) and ate at the Pepper Market pretty much every day of the trip. Based on info and reports from here on the DIS, I went in with VERY LOW expectations of PM ... so low, in fact, that I had back up plans for most days. Thankfully, I didn't need them!

My parents and I were quite happy with the food and service at the PM. The CMs were all quite friendly and helpful. The area was clean. Service was a bit slow at times, but usually only if there was a line up and they were preparing things like omelets as you ordered. The menu items were a bit pricey, but we were on the dining plan so this was not a concern for us. I have to also say that it was nice to eat with steel cutlery off of china plates as opposed to paper and plastic.

The food was good. A step above most QS I would say - which is somewhat surprising since our trip was during Free Dining and many reports indicate that food quality suffers at this time of the year. At various times on the trip we tried: the chicken quasidilla - yum, the philly cheesesteak - very good, the french toast - very good, the ham and cheese omelet - good, the southwestern omelet - so good, the breakfast platter - dad had this almost every day, the grilled flank steak - good, the steak ranchero - yum yum, the chicken club - wow (and they made it for me to go during breakfast hours) and various pastries (pecan danish, cinnamon bun, oreo cake, apple muffin, banana muffin, biscuit).

If we were staying at the CSR, I would not hesitate to eat at the PM again. I don't think I would make a special trip to the CSR just for the PM - but then, I don't think I would make a special trip to any WDW resort just for a QS meal.

I agree with the OP's, Pepper Market was pretty bad. The food was inedible, the staff was rude, the place could have been cleaner. There were still crumbs on the table and when we asked for it to be cleaned the "waitress" swiped it down with a napkin. We're among the group with the hate relationship with PM.

I just returned from a stay at CSR (8/21-8/26). I was pretty worried about eating at the Pepper Market from things I'd read. We ate lunch at PM twice during our trip and 1 breakfast. It has changed a lot since my last visit (11/06). There isn't as much variety as then. But I found it to be clean. The staff so-so. It depended who you're server was. One afternoon, we went there and ordered our drinks. My son was hot and tired so he waited at the table while I got our meal. I saw that the server had brought out my soda and my daughter's but not my son's. I had to flag her down to get his. She had automatically assumed he was getting it with the child's meal even though I told her originally we needed 3 drinks. She brought him is drink promptly.

The food was ok. The pizza my dd ordered both times was delicious. My dh got the chicken quesedillas both times and said they were just ok. My ds and I shared the cheeseburger platter once...it was just ok. The next time we shared a turkey club which was very good. When I was there, they had one person working the ice cream area and one working the pastry area. So there was no waiting for dessert. The wait for the other food could be long though. Especially for the pizza because it's made to order.

You have to remember it's only counter service even though you're eating inside in wonderful air-conditioning eating off real plates with silverware. If I weren't staying at CSR I would not go out of my way to eat there. But if you're staying there, the Pepper Market isn't so bad.

I think it's very overpriced if you aren't on the dining plan. Ate there a lot 2 years ago when we stayed at CSR and loved it even though we thought it was a little pricey then. We went back on our last trip in June...I think it's just off the charts if you aren't on the DDP and completely not worth the trip out of the way. We got a Chicken Quesadilla, a hamburger, 2 cokes and 2 cookies and it cost $50+. I thought that was pretty steep for what it was.
