Formerly the steak dinner was a counter (quick service) credit on the dining plan at Pepper Market. Is that still the case with the new QS plan? If not, is there a certain $ amount that you need to stay under?
Thank you for any help.

I do not believe there is an amount that you have to stay under. I have read that the menu has changed and it not as expansive as it was. Buzz, our resident CSR guru, is going in less than a week and I am sure he will posting the new menu when he returns. I do believe I read that the ribeye is only on teh dinner menu and not on the lunch menu.

we just ate at pepper market last week and had the steak. it was very good and counted as a counter service meal. we had it at dinner time i dont think it is on the lunch menu anymore.

Another related question...

I thought I read that at Pepper Market, it's like you pick and choose what you want from different stations... can someone clarify this, in relation to DDP? What exactly do you get for your CS credit?

Like can you get steak with sides, plus a drink? or plus a dessert? or plus both? How does that work?

yes :) you can get the steak, 2 sides (vegtable and french fries) ,a drink, and a dessert (they let us pick any one we wanted and there were a lot of great ones to choose from). it was the best counter service meal we had.

Dang! So if we actually stay at CSR, with a dining plan, we could do very well, couldn't we?

BTW, I've noticed that Pepper Market has much higher prices in their menu compared to other places, even for the same items, like burgers. Does that mean their burgers (and other similar items) are different than elsewhere in WDW? Are dishes at Pepper Market a higher quality overall?

We love PM and I think it is a better place to eat than most CS places. We have had the steak also and it is very good. As for deserts, they are mostly danishes or cobbler but if you add ice cream it isn't on the DP. The really good deserts are not on the DP and can't be used as snacks either. We usually get a danish and take it home for the next mornings breakfast. As far as higher quality, I believe the food is better. You certainly get a lot of choices.

First, the Pepper Market is not owned by Disney, but by an outside vendor. I also think they charge higher prices because it is a convention resort and the convention people most likely get their meals reimbursed so they feel they can charger the high prices. We have noticed that the portions are much larger than at your normal counter service establishment at either the parks or the other resorts. I usually have fettucine each visit and I end up taking at least half of it back to the room because it is just so much food.

Hey, as long as we're on DDP, prices don't matter!

I was actually wondering if prices had something to do with it being a convention resort... I'm just glad they're still considered CS on the DDP.

when we were there they told us we could get any dessert we wanted with the ddp (this was last week) we had the apple cobbler with ice cream. and some kind of flan (i think they were both $5 each).

Newsliner1, I hope they still allow any desert at PM. We were told both years that only certain deserts were on the dining plan. The ones in the case were not and if you added ice cream to the cobbler, it wasm't. I hope it stays your way until May. I love their fruit covered custard that is in the case.

Me too! I usually eat at the Pepper Market at least once every trip and hated to hear that the steak had been removed from the lunch menu, but if they are allowing any dessert, it may still be worth a trip over there. My husband had their taco salad. It was huge and according to him delicious. I wouldn't know though, as he wouldn't let me get a bite. I know we've always been able to get smoothies as our beverage on the DDP. Does anyone know if that's changed?

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We stayed at CSR last summer, and we had the burgers, the best burgers I've had at Disney to date! My little niece had the Taco Salad which she raved about (and she was 7 yo) and ordered off the adult menu, the waitress specifically told us that our "child" could order off the adult menu, we were thrilled! Everyone was very pleased with their food. We also ate at Maya Grill, we had the steak, absolutely wonderful, couldn't recommend this place highly enough! The service and food was 1st rate. We're going back this year (hopefully if taxes allow!). :thumbsup2

We stayed at CSR last summer and ate at PM for breakfast and dinner - this year we are making a special trip to the resort to go back to PM and try the steak - AK then CSR bus as far as BB - then minigolf there and walk to CSR. s the quality of the steak as good (or nearly as good) as say, Coral Reef or Le Cellier?
