On the opening page of the DIS Bds., there is a review of the Pepper Market. This is a place that we've never eaten & frankly, never considered eating. But the review was interesting and I'm considering dinner there for our Aug. trip. What can you tell me about Pepper Market? Can you get a "healthy meal" there (i.e. salads, good veggies, broiled meats/chicken etc.)?

You can definitely get salads... I had a grilled chicken ceasar in May. They also have a pretty good offering of fruit (both whole pieces and fruit cups).

Here's a link to the menu

Some offerings change as there are daily specials. I believe you can also get sides of things (like a side of veggies instead of the whole meal that's listed under the grill section).

There's so many options there I would think you'd definitely be able to find something to your liking.

HTH!

Would you say this is a better lunch choice or is it just as nice for a "casual" dinner?

Check out my CSR website below for pics, links and info.

The PM is a great dining experience. It is not an ordinary food court so as long as you go in with that in mind, you will love it. You are seated by a host/hostess. This person will take you to your table and give you menus and your dining tickets. If you have time, stroll around the market to get a look at the food. You can mix and match and don't be afraid to ask for things just because it is not on the sign or menu. What you ask for is stamped onto your dining tickets. When you are done eating, your take the tickets to the cashier.

A server will come and take your drink orders (& refills) and bring you condiments if needed. They will clear your table and take your trays to make room on your table.

You can get a steak dinner, pasta, pizza, Mexican, Chinese, soups and salads and dessert.

A 10% gratuity is added to the bill. This is split among all the CM's. I you feel the service warranted more, leave it on the table for that CM. If you feel you did not receive any service. Ask the cashier to remove it.

the food was good enough( i got the stir fry special of the day,my husband got steak or prime rib of some kind) but it was very crowded and busy in other wise slow Jan. the tables are very close together, so close it made it hard to get around with your food or even pull out your chair . not a real relaxing meal imo. it just seemed really nosiy and congested, even more so than pop century which was at capacity when we were there. cute decor but ended up feeling like i was eating in a school lunch room with no privacy what so ever. we probably wouldn't go back because of that.

btw the 10% service charge is not all tip...( according to the rest. manager we spoke to that day) and works out to about a 3-5%tip for the wait person so definitly leave more.

Thanks for all of your input. I'm still a little undecided, because we are not big food court/buffet diners. The crowded eating area alos concerns me. I may just save the idea and use it for a night where (heaven forbid) we don't have a PS.

We enjoy the PM but have only been there off season/off hours when there was hardly anyone there:D The food is ok, but with the variety we don't have to argue about where to eat("I don't want Mexican, Well I don't want Chinese, I want a margarita!")
Also the convenience factor of eating, then a stroll back to your CSR room is nice.

Just Back! We were at CSR for ten days. This is our favorite resort aside from OKW. We have been staying at the CSR every year... for at least one trip and many times more than one trip. The PM is great! We were there a few times last week and the salads are great... they have a great roasted chicken which you can get with grilled veggies and pass on potatoes if you wish. I had fresh fruit every morning with my coffee. So..... many options and great atmosphere. We love the atmosphere here. I have never found the tables tight to get around but again we just love this place. Coffee is great as well. If you want the atmosphere of a mexican outside market... this is what you will have. IMHO... I am looking forward to going to PM on our next trip... which I am planning at the moment.

we were there in the second week of Jan. so it whould have been slow but
out of curiosity do you know if there were any conventions at the hotel when you were there? we went to pm mainly to try it and check out the resort since we considered staying there next time but it was such a mad house! wall to wall people checking in, so much luggage lying around you could barely get through the lobby. the buses took forever, the pm was packed and uncomfortable. the tables were so close you had to move empty chairs with one hand while balancing your tray with the other just to get to your seat. I just wonder if we hit it at a horrendous time or if it is always like that. it was so packed it truly took us an hour to get out of the resort ( not to get to dtd, to get out of the resort gate )
I like the look of the resort but could not take the crowds! I wonder if it was due to conventions or what, it was just so packed...and we were staying at pop which was at capacity and never had the problems we had that night at CS

If you use a Quick & Casual Voucher, can you order anything they offer, including the Rib Eye Steak?
