Pepper Market on DDP

I've read PM has one of the best values for CS on DDP. We're staying at CSR and plan to eat dinner there at least once. What are your suggestions on how to get the best value? Am I correct that my DH could order the $19 Steak is he wanted to? Is the food good?

Also wondering on this. I also read that there is an automatic 10% gratuity at PM, do we pay this separately or is this included in the DDP (since they announced that they DON'T include gratuity in the 2008 DDP) I should assume we have to pay a gratuity even thou it is a CS? Its a little confusing. .:confused3

Pepper Market is on the DDP, your 10% gratuity will be included in your DDP. you may purchase the most expensive things in the entree area, but desserts are limited. That being said, I have yet to ever have a good meal there. Nothing has ever impressed me. I have stayed her twice, eaten there a few times even stopped back thinking it may have been a fluke. I have honestly never enjoyed anythign I have ordered--Pasta, Pizza, Chinese, even the wet burrito--IMHO it is overpriced and not a great value as a result.

Thank you for your candid reply. I was only planning on eat PM for breakfast and it would be OOP unless it was a better deal to also use for lunch or dinner but I'll rethink it. Did you try Maya Grill?

We really liked the Pepper Market when we were there last April. We ate there for B, L & D at one point or another through the stay, and between us all (12 altogether - ages 1 to 64) we probably tried almost all the different foods! We thought it was really convenient, an excellent value on the DDP, and very good food.

The last time I was there was September 25-30, 2008. CSR is one of the more expensive resorts since it is a convention resort. Just a yogurt and banana were in the area of $4.00 after tax. DH had a work thing going on there and that is why we were staying there. We did lunch on arrival during that stay, but also tried it summer of 2007, summer of 2006 and May 2005 DH and I stayed here for our anniversary. All of my expereinces were not positive as far as taste of food. As far as value on the DDP of course it is good--if you can use what is essentially a $10-$12 value anywhere else and get what would have been OOP $25-30 that would be a good use of maxing out credits. I'm sure others have had fine meals here, but we didnt' experience that. We have however enjoyed the nachos and pina coladas at the pool!;)
I was honestly afraid to try Maya Grill after my PepperMarket expereinces--I have heard mixed reviews of the breakfast buffett (most porr, but not form food quality, but form the service aspect) as well as dinner entrees--I can say dinner time smelled great in that area and if I had no other plans I may have given that a try.

Best value on WDW property. Where else can you get a prime rib or rib eye steak dinner and it only counts as a CS credit. The food is very good! Enjoy! Desserts are limited to tier 1 only. The prices are on par with any WDW restaurant. It's our favorite along with many others.

Also, they just open the Cafe Rix that offers items to go. It too is included on the DDP.

What does "tier 1" dessert mean? :confused3 I've never done DDP so forgive the ignorance.

CSR has three levels of desserts but when on the DDP, you can only choose from tier 1 (large cookie, brownie, muffin, etc) oe the boring desserts compared to a few of what they have.

If you're on the dining plan, you won't find a better CS spot than the Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

Sorry you can't eat a picture !!!

During our last stay with another group WE ALL had one word for the food......... YUK .... You might get more for your money, hoever if the food is poor

At the chinese station, do they have fried rice as an option? And the desserts that are pictured, are they included on the DDP? By the way the pictures look really good. As a WDW Foodie, this is making me even more excited about our upcoming trip to CSR.:goodvibes

We have always loved the food. It is by far the best value for CS meals. We eat there most nights after long days in the park. We like to get carry out so we can relax in our rooms. They are always helpful with this.

The desserts are limited. They have danish, cookies, cobbler, etc. I don't even think the ice cream on the cobbler is included in the DDP. They have fancy desserts but they aren't included in the DDP. It is a nice place to get a danish for the next mornings breakfast. They give you so much food that we usually can't eat the dessert anyway.

We love the steak and prime rib. They have one or the other every night. It comes with potato and fresh sauted vegatables. (I am sure I spelled sauted wrong.) My kids love the pasta and pizza. I have never had anything there that I didn't like. I guess everyone has to decide for themselves if they like it or not. I hope it find it as good as we do!

I don't think that those desserts are on the DDP. Very limited selection of desserts on the DDP, none of the cakes, a cookie, a danish(I think), a cinnamon roll, no ice cream.

I am still curious about the tip, Anyone know?

You can get everything at the PM separate. Even if it is not listed, don't be afraid to ask. I mix and match all the time. Everything is very good!

Only tier 1 desserts are allowed on the DDP (not the ones pictured) and the tip is included.

Honestly, we very much enjoyed our meals at Pepper Market! There was a great selection, and even our picky eater/DD found several things she enjoyed. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the rib eye. However, the burritos, chinese, burgers, sandwiches, and pastas we enjoyed. DD especially liked the fettucine alfredo on the kids menu!

DD & I ate dinner one evening at Maya Grill, and I thought the selection and quality was very good. Our server was polite, and very good. We're looking forward to returning to the Maya Grill.

My DW and I enjoy all the restaurants and food offerings at CSR. They are some of the best we've had at WDW.

Pepper Market and Maya Grill were excellent in November. My dh got something Chinese and I got Mexican, both really good. A couple nights later we were too tired for Chef Mickey's, so were tried Maya Grill and it was excellent. The kids were really thrilled, they had chips and salsa and mozz stix as appt for them. I had the mixed grill with filet, ribs, and fresh catch. The filet was as good as Le Cellier and the ribs didn't have any fat on them and a really good barb q sauce. I would definetly recommend both of them.
