If you are on the dining plan, do you still have to pay the tip, or is it covered by the dining plan? I know they are not owned by Disney but they do have a contract to participate in the dining plan, yes?
If the tip is removed because of the dining plan, do you leave a tip on the table? Do the waiters get reimbursed for the tipping through Disney? I don't want to pay 10% over and over again if they are getting reimbursed for it already. Plus it adds quite a bit to the already paid out price for the dining plan.
I know you can get take out and skip the tip, but it may be cold out and we probably won't want to go much. :)

Can you get things from Siestas Pool Bar using your dining plan?

Thanks for the help! :lovestruc

We were the over x-mas, only ate in at PM a couple times - I thought we would have the 10% tip automatically added on based on what I've read here, but it was not.

Same for us. We had lunch at the Pepper Market on 11/30 and the tip was not automatically added to our bill.

The dining plan does not cover the tip. We've used the plan there before, but I don't remember how the tip worked - I don't recall that it was automatic though. We didn't get a separate bill for the tip.

You get the card to take up and they stamp then take it to the cashier when your done eating. There was no bill of any sort other than the card. They took our room key - applied the dining credits and that was it. We left a tip on the table.

Anyone else?

I had this long detailed reply typed and I timmed out and lost it!

Suffice to say the 10% is not manadatory at the register for those on a DDP, but we've been asked (not always) if we want to charge it to our room. We tell the cashier that we've taken care of it.

We just tip the staff directly a few bucks in cash for the two of us before we leave. Whether you do or not is up to you.

There are signs as you enter, and it's printed on the menus now, that tips are not included with any dining plans.

If they are swiping your KTTW card for dining plan credits no mandatory tip is included. If you are paying any other way the 10% is computed when you check out and is on your receipt.

Stayed here w/ dining plan this past year- as previous posters said, tip was not included and we left cash on the table (which was a pain, because we pretty much go cash-free @ disney...so used to putting things on cards!).

And yes, Siesta at the pool does accept the dining plan- we charges snack credits on several occassions- fresh fruit, drinks, and even a yummy cheese quesadilla (which I've heard they're not serving anyomore- but that's unconfirmed!)....
