So can anyone tell me about the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs?

How long does it take to get seated and get food and pay and all of that good stuff? Does it take considerably longer than the other food courts?

Is it a table service or counter service credit on the dining plan?

Thanks for any input! :goodvibes

We ate there several times over Christmas. It is very convenient and it definitely has something for every one. We were seated immediately every time. After you are seated, you select from several "stations." Some take longer to prepare food than others and some get long lines. If you are in a hurry, you could choose a station that is moving faster. You pay on the way out, and I never had a line to pay.

It is counted as 1 counter service meal, though a 10% tip is expected (and in some cases, added on, though it was never added on for us) since you have a server who brings and refills drinks.

When you are seated, you will be given a sheet of paper that looks a little bit like a bingo card (full of squares). You take this with you to the "stations" where they stamp on it what you order. This is your "bill" that you take to the registers when you are done.

Don't forget to go to the bakery "station" to get your dessert!!!

We really enjoyed Pepper Market a few weeks ago, but only ate there for breakfast. Be prepared to be a little bit confused the first time you go there. It gets easier with time. Case in point; if you want scrambled eggs in the morning, DO NOT go to the omelet/eggs "cooked to order" station. Scrambled eggs are at a special station. I think my only real complaint other than that, is it can take awhile to get back to your table, if you want food from multiple stations. Have your group split up if need be (for example, I should have sent my kids to get toast, while I got us eggs. Instead, I got my eggs and then got in the toast line and by the time I got back to the table, my eggs were a bit lukewarm.) LOL - one more issue now that I think about it, I guess I also wasn't happy that eggs and omelets came with a biscuit or muffin. I mean, it's only 95 cents for toast, but I just didn't want the biscuit or muffin period.

As far as the wait is concerned, in general, it seemed like breakfast was the longest line of the day. It can be worse if there's a convention going on. But even though the line looked really bad, we were seated in about 10 minutes.

Finally, I really didn't mind the 10% tip. It was worth it to me to not have to get up & refill my own coffee (and our server gave me a go cup as well.) And the quality and variety of the food, at least at breakfast, was far superior to many CS options at other resorts. I felt like we were getting a TS quality breakfast for a CS credit. My kids liked it so much, they asked to go back a 2nd time.

It has some good things is small for as large as the resort is and we did have a wait. :thumbsup2

What if you want to take food to go? This will be our first trip to this resort and we like to eat outside. Is it possible to do that? We can deal with not having our drinks refilled by anyone :goodvibes

You can do that. Just tell the host/hostess at the front you want to do takeout and they'll help you. (Saves the tip, too)
