PeopleMover Refurbishment extended thru 12-26

Man, this is our first time back in 7 years and my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom is closed. I saw the report on All Ears just now and sure enough, it is now updated on MDE app as being closed on on 12-11 thru 12-19 visit. It was supposed to open back up in late November. What a bummer.

This is the fourth date extension for it, it really sucks

Fourth extension! That is insane.
That is the most relaxing ride at night at Magic Kingdom. I get emotional on it EVERY time.

I have to admit, I’m bummed it’s under refurbishment. DLR still has the track for theirs and I didn’t know what it was for until a couple years ago. Lol I was excited to actually get to try it at WDW before I saw it was down.

I miss the Peoplemover at DL so much. Was really hoping to get to ride it at WDW.

No one really knows, they were about to reopen with the rest of the park in July and something was wrong with the tracks i think

To be honest, I am just glad it's BEING refurbished. I was afraid it would get axed. If they are spending money on it, they plan to have it around for a while.

Our favorite attraction at MK as well (our personal best is 11 consecutive trips without getting off), and really bummed it now won't be open for our trip in early December. On the bright side, it appears they are doing a serious refurb of the ride infrastructure - something that has not really happened for 45 years. The other closures/refurbishments were mostly around theme or due to Space Mountain being refurbed. I'm glad they're doing it, and look forward to riding it on our trip in May.

Don't count on it. Since the pandemic Disney has never met a deadline for stuff like this yet, I wouldn't get my hopes up for this one. I was hoping Ratatouille would be running for our trip and not only will it not be ready by Thanksgiving, I've heard they may wait until closer to their 50th Anniversary celebrations to open that. Disney appears to be in no rush to get stuff opened back up. It's quite unfortunate.

11 consecutive trips without getting off !!! Wow !!!! Was that at night? I am jealous !!!!! Being able to sit, relax, look at the lights on the castle, it is just so relaxing & makes you really breathe in & just enjoy your family & the wonderful views around you. I am so bummed that it will not be open when we are there. Happy thoughts for all the lucky Dis Buddies that get to enjoy it when it finally does open..
