There seem to be a lot who do, but do you leave it in the room?
It might get nicked?

What are peoples opinions?

thanks again folks

If you take it to the baggage desk at the hotel, they will lock it in the "cage" for you, and they do not charge.
We put ours in every morning and got it back at night, if the desk is closed when you want to get it back you just ask at the front desk and they will send someone to get it for you.....just don't forget the ticket they give you when you hand it over.

For a determained criminal the safe is the 1st place they will go, they will stop the opportunist but not anyone that wants to get in. Someone posted pic of safe broken into on another forum yesterday. If she reads this I am sure she will post it.
We have taken ours many times but most safes are not big enough, we just find somewhere out of site. Not easy

Never really considered it, DH just leaves his on charge on the bedside table:scared1: :scared1: Might have to take it to bell services now.

We don't take the laptop simply cause we want to escape the things we do every day at home and I'd worry about it being stolen. I worry enough about the camera/video camera and they're with us all the time! :scared:

I used to feel like that with laptops, but since moving to digi photography its makes life so much easier.
I take around 2,000 pics each trip, upload to laptop every night. Also nice having free video calls back to UK. Plus info like weather, exchange rates etc. sort emails out every night is a big plus. I once went home after a 25 night trip and had almost 3,000 emails.
We don't keep any important info on so would just buy another if it got stolen. Only thing I would lose is the latest photos.

I agree laptop so much easier with digi photos, checking latest weather and keeping in touch with places like Disboards :)

As for digi piccies once uploaded usually burn a second copy to CD as a back up incase the laptop breaks/crashes etc!!

Claire ;)

I must admit we leave our ours out on the desk too! never really thought about it to be honest.

I left mine either on the table or the bottom of the bedside table, I also leave the camcorder on the table if I'm not taking it with me. :scared1:

Hmm, I have wondered whether taking a laptop would work. Seeing as I may be going back to WDW in September, I did wonder whether we should take one with as my mum will take thousands of pics, and I'm attempting to as well. Although I'm also wondering, since we'll be staying on I Drive, just to go buy another SD card if we run out of room, or just get them on CD since I'm pretty sure there is a walgreens near to where we stayed/staying.

We too have thought about taking a laptop, the only thing that has held me back in the past is the size and extra room it would take up.

I saw in the London Lite paper back in February and advert for THIS which I thought looked ideal just for internet browsing and the likes.

I've bought a laptop just so I can bring it with us! I want to download my pics and video every night so i can make room for more! ;)

I'll also burn my photos to disc after I've downloaded them as a back up. :thumbsup2
