I saw some pictures online of Jane Fonda at an event recently, she looks amazing, she was born in 1937, I know she has had "work" done that she has admitted to, but she still looks like herself, and wow, fantastic! I have always been neither here nor there about her but I did love her workout tape and did it for years in the 80s. When you see anything online about her, her facebook, he blog,or any articles where you can comment, it amazes me how many hateful comments there still are everywhere regarding her and her opposition to the vietnam war. Its like almost half of comments online on anything that has to do with her are quite hateful. I have been reading her biography and was sad to discover her mom committed suicide by slitting her throat when Jane was 11. JF was also bulimic till she was in her 40s. In her book she explains the picture of her taken in Vietnam that almost got her charged with treason. It seems like she had alot of men manipulating her at the time, and she was in the wrong place at the wrong time when that photo was taken. I know I dont know the whole story, but now that Ive been looking at her blog and facebook, I was kinda blown away by all the hate that is still out there. She actually seems like a cool lady, and it also sounds like she would rewrite that old chapter in her life quite a bit if she could.Any opinions on this or her?

The Vietnam thing was a definite big goof on her part, although the thing's been blown WAY out of proportion in typical urban legend style over the years. Those workout vids of hers in the 80's appear to still be paying off for her today. By all appearances, she seems to be in GREAT shape.

I don't really care about her either way, but I do know NEVER to bring her name up in front of my dad. He loaths her and will go off on a good hour rant about her.

That is a load of malarkey that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, Give me a break. How convenient! She should have been charged.

I dislike her tremendously! and always will.

An Urban legend is something that isn't true. What about her despicable actions was made up or didn't happen?

You may not agree that it was as bad as many of us feel it was BUT it was no Urban legend, she did it.

The story goes that U.S. prisoners slipped notes to her which she gave to the NV captors, and then said prisoners were subsequently tortured & executed. But, I've never seen that particular part of the story from any credible source.

If she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, then she did it to herself.

I have no sympathy for her regarding that.

There are many people I would not mutter the words "Jane Fonda" in front of unless I wanted to hear a lot of ranting and raving.

She is very attractive though.

Strong dislike for the woman.
I don't care what she looks like...anyone can look good if they have enough money.

Another one here who won't bring her name up in front of my dad. He's a Vietnam vet and has nothing but contempt for her.
As far as her being manipulated into the circumstances she was in - I don't buy it. I think she was exactly where she wanted to be, making exactly the statement she wanted to make.
That said, I've seen (and enjoyed) several movies she's been in.

SHe was NOT a victim. She was and is a traitor. She deserves nothing but contempt. Some things are unforgivable.

I WANT HER PLASTIC SURGEON!!!

Yes, she has admitted to having work done on her face. It is the best face work I've seen. I want that surgeon. Now, if I only had the money to pay for him too. . . :(

:rolleyes1

She is a traitor...plain and simple. Research it of you doubt. I don 't watch her movies and have never bought anything she promoted. Regardless of how good she looks, she is an ugly, ugly person.

+1. And I wasn't even alive during Vietnam.

Should we also forgive Roman Polanski for raping a 14 year old girl because of his hard life? Or because he makes such *awesome* movies?

Sorry but one's past or Hollywood accomplishments do not excuse disgusting behavior.

I was an infant when she went to Vietnam, but from everything that I have read and seen, I still don't like her, and think that she is a traitor to our country. Yes, I think that perhaps some things were blown out of proportion, but if even half of it is true, it is enough to dislike her. The fact that she had a tragedy in her childhood and bulimia doesn't change my mind. A traitor is still a traitor. She was a grown adult when she did it, and only she is responsible for her actions. I have seen movies that she has been in (and I consider the fact that I wasted my time on the movie Barbarilla yet another reason to hate her, but sadly it isn't a criminal offense) so I don't avoid her, I just don't go out of my way to pay attention to her.

Just my opinion.

Traitor, plain and simple. She should be scorned (if not worse)

It sounds silly to hold a grudge that long. but most of us have a "thing" that we just cant get over, I never ever will do anything but hate Art Modell and Lebron James

I'm not Fonda Jane
