Why do so many people come into a trade room and then this happens

1. They say I am not trading at the moment
2. Say they are trading this and after you ask them to trade they cancel
3. New people that come into a popular room and try and get taken
4. Completely ignore one person but listen to the rest
5. Do flat out nothing and just take room up

anyone know these questions? And do they sound familiar?

1. I don't trade, but have a lot of friends who do and ask me to come just to hang out and keep them company while they wait for a good trade to come up. Or sometimes I just like seeing what people are offering for what in case I ever do want to trade.

2. I wonder about this also. Or they say they are trading this and after you offer they change their mind. Can they just say they don't like your offer?

3. Or come to a busy quest room and ask people if they're taken while they are busy looking at the quest...?

4. Sometimes I am asked something and I answer it and right after they ask the same question, or are constantly asking something that's already been answered. OR the most common is the person being ignored really is being ignored via the ignore button.

5. People do have a real life behind the monitor. Perhaps they were playing and something (like their dinner burning) came up and they didn't have time to say they were afk or log off or go to their own room or something.

^_^

I'm afraid I have been guilty of the "arrive in trade room" and then "sorry, not trading" behavior. Sometimes, you can't tell from a room description what is IN the room to be traded so you have to pop in to see. Some rooms are crammed and you need time to see what is in there. Also, just because you enter the room does not mean the clothes you are wearing or the pins you display are the items you plan to trade.

As a general rule, I will not trade with anyone who clicks the trade window without even saying "hi" first. So, you might give some "wanderers" the benefit of doubt if they don't respond quickly.

This is me, as well. When the title says "RARE" and I see all junk, I won't trade. If I see something of interest, I will ask what they would like offered for it. Why would I start trading the instant I enter a room?

there are two things i hate when people trade with me one the first thing they say is Hi then there silent!! i cant stand it and the second thing is when the offer the worse stuff ever!!

I wounder about this also a lot.
Another thing is that it is sooooo anoying when someone comes to your room and advertises their room and beg their friends to go. That just gets to me.

Some ppl say "Trading Rare!!" And they put up water coolers!

I'm not trading anymore.

I seriously DON'T CARE. Now if people are trying to scam oneanother, that's a problem. But let them do whatever they want! Sure, it's rude if they close a trade window on you, but take that as a "no".

This is what i dont understand. It Does Not Say Anywhere That You HAVE To Trade While In A trade Room. Many People May Just Be Looking Or Browsing For Certain Things, So Do Not Get Mad When People Do Not Want To Trade Certain Days.

I agree. I often go into rooms looking for something and before i can open my mouth a trade request pops up, even though I say ask first in my siggy. They want what I have on, so I cancel it. If this bothers you so much, stop going to trade rooms. Not everything is going to be exactly the way you want it, it's not called "Cpt.JackSpearow's VMK". Seems like someone has something to complain about daily, if it bothers you just don't participate. I'm sure you don't like/get along with everyone in real life so you can't expect to in the virtual world either.

:cloud9: I don't wanna wake up... I like sleepin!!! In fact, I am sleeping right now... :teeth:

Another thing is that it is sooooo anoying when someone comes to your room and advertises their room and beg their friends to go.

last time someone did that I said "lame", and then the girl got mad at me and called me a meanie. so I plainly said that "yes I may be mean, but I don't go into other people's rooms to get them to go to mine...because that's lame."
she didn't get it. :sad2:

and people who ask if you're trading your crown or dress (when it clearly states in my sig. that I'm not!) bother me, but that's VMK and you're going to get all kinds of people here so I try not to let it get to me.

I like trading stuff but it can be frustrating. Sometimes someone will ask to trade with me then before they tell me what they are looking for they start putting NPC pins and tank tops up for trade. So I ask them what are they looking for...What do you think they say? "rare." "need rare now." :confused3

Hey, Stitchfan... I want a water cooler, seriously! That's all I want from Inner Space shop, and I can't get to it!!! I'm no good at games and can't score high enuf to finish quests! :sad2:

1. They say I am not trading at the moment
People keep asking "Are/Is your so and so for trade?"
2. Say they are trading this and after you ask them to trade they cancel
Usually if I do that its an accident
3. New people that come into a popular room and try and get taken
I agree but thats just bc i hate taken
4. Completely ignore one person but listen to the rest
Maybe theyr offer is really bad for example I was in a trade room and someone offered Narnia lamp for my gold ears. I ignored her and she kept whinning.
5. Do flat out nothing and just take room up
Several reasons:
1.Get there and you r parents need help woth something and you dont have time to say "afk"
2.Trying to listen to what people have for trade because you dont have anything in particular you want to spend your tradables for.
3.You are trading and someone thinks you are just taking up space.

Reasons to hate trade rooms:

rude and ignorant people - I know most are kids, but hey. Tell them nicely "sorry that XXXX is not for trade" and they keep on...and on. *clicks ignore*. Also applies to room owners, such as Grumpy. Had just been in the room, and someone else got in behind me and asked me to move. Anyone who has been in Grumpy's trade room knows it has one turnstile entrance and is very poorly made. I was stuck with someone in front and couldn't move myself, and before I could say "I'm trying but cant move" I was booted.
Maybe rather than boot people, they should take some lessons in room design :artist:

ignorant part two - forgot about this in the above, people who see "not trading XXX" in your sig and still, its bing, trade..."is your xxxx for trade". ARG!

Thos who click trade rather than ask first - sorry personal bug bear of mine :furious:

Beggars - Was trading something for a friend last night, put out the trade request and bin, trade. open window "can I have the hat I am poor". Bing, close window. Get off your backside and do something about it.

Ok, sorry rant over...I needed that!

I have also gone into trade rooms just to see what might be there. I have also had people ask me to come with them. But I agree with some of the previous posts, just because I am wearing some pins and have a certain outfit on does not mean I am trading it. In fact, I wear them so I won't trade them. I am currently wearing 8 Bat Magic which I hope will come in handy sometime down the line. I wear them so I would remind myself not to trade them. I can't tell you how many people beg for them and I try to politely tell them that they are not for trade.

Recently I was in a friends room and some girl was pestering me for the Bat Magic. A friend of mine, owner of the room, came to my aid and quite nicely told her to stop bugging me, that I had said no. She got mad and before she left informed us all that she had reported my friend. Ugh!

My biggest pet peeve is a trade that has been agreed to in advance. You get to their room to complete the trade, only to have them say "well, I really don't want that frontierland stuff, can you add more pirate stuff instead?" When I comment that the trade was already agreed to and that I have nothing else to offer, they reply "well, what else do you have because I really don't want some of that stuff?" Okay, WHY AGREE TO THE TRADE TO BEGIN WITH? After some time going back and forth, I finally said well, I have nothing more so thanks and nvm. I was quickly booted and a message was sent to me that I had been terribly rude and that they were just trying to be nice. Huh???

For the most part, I stay away from the trade rooms now.

1.
Everyone in the game has just as much right to go into a trade room as the next person. Just because someone says they are not trading at the moment does not mean they will never trade, but if they don't that is their right also, don't you think? I do not trade often in fact hardly ever but I sometimes go to trade rooms to see what is being traded, what is available, and how much things are going for.

2.
As far as this one goes I have done this several times because usually the person is not offering anything I want or what they are offering is worth so much less than what they want. I usually say no thanks but sometimes just click cancel.

3.
taken is a way of life in VMK sad but true.

4.
now that is a hard one, it is sometimes difficult to determine this.

5.
maybe they are just observing which they have every right to do. Lighten up ;)

For some people, water coolers may be rare! They are sold in Inner Space Shop, and if you don't have the space magic, then you can't get to that shop!

yeah but if it's something you can get from the normal shop screen and not one of the "specials" from that shop...

you can just buy one from the shop screen. 50 credits isn't much when you just do your rounds of the NPC characters.
