for loving Disney so much.

I grew up thinking that Disneyland must be the best place on the planet & I always wanted to go there. I was 22 the first time I went & absolutely loved it.

It was 12 years later that I was able to go again & it hadn't lost any of the magic. Seven years later we went back with our kids. Our DD fell in love with it too.

As much as I love Disneyland I have always wanted to go to WDW in Orlando. From what I had read & seen on TV it seemed to me to be Disneyland on steroids:)

Well I finally got there last year. I was one of those that walks down Main Street with a lump in my throat & tears in my eyes. It was an almost lifelong dream come true. It was everything I hoped it would be & more.

Since I've been home I can't stop thinking about it & wanting to go back. I have managed to convince my husband that he will love it too, (last time I went with DD because he didn't want to go) which is how I am planning a trip for 2014.

What I love about this forum is that I know I am not alone. I am not the only one who cries when they leave the park for the last time to return home.:sad2: And here I can talk about my return trip without boring everyone senseless:goodvibes

No.....

I can't say that I'm weird about loving Disney and wanting to live there. I just decided a long time ago that someday I will be living in the castle (sorry to everyone else that thinks that they are doing the same thing....because I've got first dibs).....

I can't say that I'm weird because I cry when I watch the ending to any Disney or Pixar movie. I've just learnt to bring tissues with me to the cinemas.

I can't say that I'm weird that I plan my holidays around Disney locations. I just don't tell my DH that; although he sees right through me.

I can't say that I'm weird when I cry everytime I hear the first strains of music outside a Disney park. Again...I've just learnt to bring tissues with me.

I can't say that I'm weird that I hang out on the Dis most of the time.....wait.....that might actually be weird.

I can't say that I'm weird that I don't talk Disney with any of my family or friends.....because they would think I'm weird. But that's okay because I have found kindred folks on the Dis.

So....Kiwifan......yes, there really is a Disney World.....right here with the rest of us uber-planners (aka DISneyFANatics).

Weird? :confused3 Nope.....none of us would fit that descriptions.:goodvibes

You'll find me running the Big Thunder Railroad. Howdy neighbour:wave2:

Kiwifan, you have found a place where there is no shame to that strange love of Disney.

I could have written this :goodvibes

I said to my DH last night "you'll get sick of Disney one day" and he said that's ok, we can still go there, but when I get sick of it I'll just go and play golf"
I am so lucky he gets me :lovestruc

my guy loves disney almost as much as he loves me.

it's killing us to go on our most recent trip to dlr + do a dcl cruise and not have a day at wdw, so i talked to my sis tonight, and we might be squeezing one in.

and then we have our 10 day wdw staycation in may 2014.

obsessed??? nah. we just know what we want, and we want disney!!! we love the feeling that anything is possible and magic is around the corner. we love that feeling of saying 'goodnight, but not goodbye' every time we leave the park.

i have never felt happier on holiday than when i was at a disney park.

welcome!!!! to the DIS. here, there are no fanatics. just right-minded people. all the others who don't get disney are the weird ones :)

Welcome to the our special little ANZAC place on the Disboards - you will fit right in here!!

Welcome! and I agree that those people who don't get disney are weird :rotfl:
I believe that people who love disney are able to experience more magic in their lives pixiedust:

I'm yet to experience my first wdw trip, but the moment I signed up onto these boards, I finally felt like I found people who understands me :goodvibes
Sometimes I have to refrain myself from over loading my bf and family about all things disney and just bottle it up in my head, so these boards really are great!

Disney makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and that we should never give up on our dreams :goodvibes

Don't you hate that. You've just found a great special, or booked something you're really excited about, and all you want to do is tell someone. Not to skite, but just because you're really happy. But you know no one will share/understand your excitement so you bottle up instead.

Thank goodness for everyone here on the DIS.

Hi, my name is Sue, and I am weird too!!! ( now you have to recite this, insert your name of course, in front of a group of people all sitting around in a circle at a meeting!!!! )

I live and breathe Disney! My name at work is Mrs Disney. People I know will be out shopping and send me pics of random things they find to see if I have it already. I refer to the haunted Mansion as "my mansion" and there is nowhere I would rather be than standing in front of Sleeping Beauty castle at sunset:goodvibes

I have a room in my house dedicated to the big D and a different Disney watch for every day of the month::yes::

So, you are not alone, and I am so glad you have joined us all here who are just like you:hug:

I am also so glad to hear you loved WDW as I will be visiting next year for the very first time. I am a die hard Disneyland girl and to read your post that WDW still gave you the same feeling has made me a happy girl indeed!

We will be happy to listen any time:thumbsup2

Exactly! When I decided that a split stay between AKL and BLT would save some money, I got really excited to stay at both resorts, the bf chuckled and told me to calm down :headache: The good part is that I get to do all the planning :yay:

 for everyone here

Cool, a split stay AKL and BLT. It sounds wonderful! How long do you have to wait for that holiday?
I can completely understand your excitement. I have a split stay BWV and AKV coming up in Sep. I was SO excited when I realised that renting points would afford me the option of being able to do this. When I began my planning, I was originally looking at POP. Once I saw both bookings on the WDW website I was pretty much skipping around the house with happiness. My DH is used to these happy mood swings and just laughs politely. But I can't really tell anyone else or splash the news on Facebook as people will just think I'm a bit odd. Yay for the Dis!

So KiwiFan, welcome to the club of obsessive-compulsive Disney Fans and travel planners. I probably only consider myself the latter at this stage, but I have a feeling that this might change after my upcoming trip. If this holiday is even only half as good as I'm hoping it will be, I'm going to be hooked. One of my favourite ways of traveling is cruising, and I'm particularly worried that the Disney Fantasy is going to spoil any other cruise line for me. :rotfl:

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. It's so nice to know there are like minded people out there.:cool1:

Yep, I'm crazy too! And I love having this happy place where we can all be crazy together :goodvibes

My dream holiday will be in December 2014 so a long way away :rotfl: I was super excited when I found out about renting points too! I was almost jumping around when I knew this could let me stay for more nights :hyper: Some men just won't understand, but it's great they don't argue or disagree with any of our planning :rotfl:

Disney crazy is good crazy, most of the time :P

Yes everyone thinks I'm crazy too :rotfl:

I love the excitement of having a trip in the pipeline and the planning is part of the fun.

People around me can't understand why I am spending so much money on going back to a place I have been to before. Have a couple of converts though, a couple of friends have just returned and are already planning their next trips so its my turn to laugh :upsidedow

I would have a different watch for every day of the year if I could afford it :lmao:

Seriously, I collect ANYTHING Disney that I can get my hands on - empty tissue boxes, lolly wrappers, newspaper clippings... It's the way to get my fix while I'm on a tight budget :rotfl:

Ok, so it has been established......I am more wierd than Sugarglider:lmao:

And I too collect evrything I can to do with Disneyland, Minnie Mouse, The Nightmare Before Christmas............you get the picture!
And I truly do have a very large collection of watches but I have been collecting them for a while. I even got a Frankenweenie one for Christmas!
