I live on the Florida Gulf coast in the winter, and my friend lives in Wisconsin. We are sharing a room, and she is NOT smartphone literate and asked me to handle anything related to FP+, etc. I'm back in Florida by November, and our trip is in January.
She will be taking ME, while I'll drive over early in the day and start my park visit.
When ordering the MBs, it looks like they can be sent to any address- but all in the same group.

Is that so? I should have the MBs shipped to her so she can take the MK and get into our room if I'm off in the parks if that is the case. My old MB may work (nearly 5 years old) for the ticket and room, correct? Then I could just use the new one when she brings it, since it would be active and my old one may work?

I could have them shipped to me, make sure hers is linked and mail it to her from Florida as well, but I'd rather not.

What would you do? And is my logic here correct- that they are shipped to one place?

Have them shipped to you, and leave hers with the front desk of the resort when you head off to the park.

So she won't use it/need it for the Magical Express? I can mail her the ticket in regular mail, if I buy from undercover tourist or someplace and have the hard copy.

They are shipped to one location.

That's what I thought. Hmmmm.

When I had a similar situation, I had the MB's sent to me, then I mailed the one to a friend who was traveling from another state. Worked out fine since you usually receive the MB's several weeks before your trip.

Yes MBs are only shipped to a single address per reservation. Your MB will still work as long is it shows up on your MDE account as active which it should if you never disabled it. You can have multiple MBs all active at the same time.

Your Friend does not need a MB to ride the DME bus but she should make sure that she makes a DME reservation. It can be done online, I will post the link below. Worst case, she can get a generic colored MB at the Front desk of your resort or she can get a RF ID card from the Front desk to access your shared room.

So the decision about where to ship is for you guys to decide and there is no wrong answer here just your personal preference.

Thank you so much! You've all been so helpful.

When do they typically ship? I assume fairly close to the reservation dates, to avoid sending them when people may cancel? It seems like last time it was about 30 days before my trip.

My MB should work, at least for some things as it's in my MDE.

As indicated in previous posts no need for a MB on DME. MBs are not shipped outside of North America so this would become an issue for any international guests if they need a MB to access DME.

Also your friend does not a physical ticket and the last UT I had were all sent to me via Email. If you are managing her information, you could link her UT ticket before you leave. Even if you get your tickets, I always suggest printing out the e-Ticket information just so that you have a backup copy.

Correct usually 3-4 weeks before your trip unless you get one of the new "Optional" MBs that are offered during your MB customization step in MDE. They ship these "Optional" MBs soon after your MB order.

I would have the bands shipped to me and then mail her band to her. They are very lightweight and you can put the band in a padded envelop to mail it to her.

If she plans to take the Magical Express then she should bring the confirmation letter from ME when she flies to Orlando. She can use that letter instead of the MB if you decide not to mail the band.

You can order her a hard ticket from Undercover Tourist and send it to her to use for the parks if you don't mail her MB to her.

I've had MB's sent to me and then mail them out to others if I'm not going to be there before them. As mentioned they can get on ME even without a MB. But since you have an existing MB to use I'd probably just have it shipped to her and then have her bring your new one.
