Because they don't have to deal with snow. Yea, it's nice to look at and play in on occassion but when you have to shovel it, it SUCKS! Right now Connecticut is in what weather people like to call a Nor-easter. We're supposed to get 20-30 inches of snow which is a lot more than they orginally said. This is the 2nd worst snow storm in CT since 1905. There's 20.7 inches in the Hartford area right now, which is where I am (yes, we're watching the weather channel, that's how I know all this).

When I went out to shovel this morning there was maybe 1 1/2 feet already, but it wasn't all that heavy (until you got the end of the driveway where all the snow from the plows pile up). What's really bad about this storm though, is the wind. By the time you're done shoveling, it's time to start over again because there's like another 2 inches on the ground. So yea, bottom line snow sucks, especially when you live on a street corner (sidewalks on both sides of the house), and have a long 2 car driveway. I really wish that the big ark of a snowblower in the garage worked, it would have made it a lot easier.

Anyways, I just had to vent.. for now at least (it's about time to go shoveling again..Yay!)

wow that stinks. My house is near the coast like you, but i go to school farther west closer to New York, so we didnt get that much snow here. BUt we also have people to clear the walk ways for us. BUt i refuse to go outside, its way too cold and way too much snow. So right now my mom is prolly complaining about shoveling the drive way at home. lol.

Sometimes I want to live on the west coast, times where I feel like tanning but most of the time I like it here. We've got 2 feet of snow right now. I'm partly with you though, it's beautiful now, but it'll look ugly in a couple of days. Good news? I don't think I have escuela (school) tomorrow! (Watch, the second I say this, we'll have school )

Hi, girls, from the sunny South!!!! My daughters 12 and 17 are VERY sad because we have no snow - they are soooo jealous of you!!!!! A few minutes ago we had maybe three minutes of a snow flurry - we got so excited!!!!! Now, the sun is out and it's about 40 degrees, so no snow for us this time!!!!!

We don't have very much snow, so the schools almost always close if we get more than an inch or two. It's kind of pathetic. People who live where you do always laugh when they see how we react to a little bit of snow. If we lived where you do, we'd probably feel just like you do!!!

yall are lucky you get snow days. because i go to a private school at which i live at, i HAVE to go to school everyday even if there is 3 feet of snow. but i dont think we have school on wed, because we have a dance on tuesday and if we raise 2000 dollars from it we wont have school on wed!!!

I looked out my window this morning and saw no snow, then I remembered I live in Florida. No snow here, but very cold like 50 degrees all day long. I'm not leaving my nice warm house. Best of luck to all of you in the north with the snow.

hon, we got three inches yesterday, more today and looking for it all to freeze over tonight. Just because we are south of the Mason-Dixon line doesn't mean it doesn't snow here.

its freezing outside. i refused to go to brunch this morning cuz it was snowing so much and i got 2 points but it was worth staying in my nice warm bed. I wish it was 50 degrees here, thats like spring!!

schools out over here. it's not really that bad. but it must have sucked for NY who got 60 cm. god bless canadian winters & snow days. i don't shovel, my dad snowblows.
