It’s not bad at all in the park today, so far anyway. It’s sunny, but expected it to be much hotter than it is.Today should be the last super hot day. The high pressure system is losing its hold over CA.
lucky you. It's supposed to be 117 today here in El Centro!!
I’m here now. It’s not that bad. There’s a breeze.
What is it like in the evenings? We usually come during the winter or spring and have always needed pants and sweaters at night (even though we're Canadian and used to the cold, I have always found it chilly when the sun goes down). Is there a need to pack pants and sweaters for summer evenings? Or does it stay warm after dark?
You're a trooper! I would be toast. I always have to take breaks in the middle of the day or I die from the heat.I decided Friday night to take my girls to disneyland by myself since the husband hd to work unexpectedly all weekend. We left our house at 5:59am and were standing front and center at the rope by 7:36am. It was already hot. We got a ton of stuff done between 8-10am. By 11am it was HOT and crowded. We did several shows, characters, ate a long lunch in the shade, and took it easy. I kept forcing water on them and I drank a ton too. I’m from Texas but it was hot and I was worried about my 3 year old. No one got sunburned though. I was sweating like crazy. How do some of y’all manage to pull off that cute at Disney look in 96 degree temperatures?I looked like I’d ran a marathon when we left the park at 8pm after 13 hours.
Ha ha thank you!During this recent heat wave, it stayed warm at night. I would say, bring sweatshirts or hoodies/light jacket, and maybe one pair of pants. I'll tell you what, if you are staying at the Grand Californian, or plan to spend any time there in the evenings dining, BRING PANTS and a long sleeve shirt. They have the AC in the public areas set to "meat locker" levels. It is freezing in there.
Last Saturday the evening was chilly to me and my friend. I brought a spirit jersey and she had a light sweater and that was fine for watching Fantasmic in. Take this as a grain of salt though. We are both from desert climates originally so we do not handle cold very well. What is it like in the evenings? I'm from the Northeast too so thanks mentioning your perspective. I was wondering how it would be (headed there this week : ). Today by me its in the 90's with high humidity, you feel like you can't breathe! I thought it didn't rain much in the summer in LA. Do you think I should bring ponchos? We were at the parks on Thursday, and while we did pretty well that day, we found we were pretty worn out the next day (and still kinda recovering the day after that). We probably didn't drink enough water, and we were there from open til after 9pm, and did a rides with waits in the sun. It just was kind of relentlessly sunny at times (after a rainy morning, which was actually delightful) but the heat didn't bother me as much since I am from the northeast and used to the heat/humidity combo. We also ended up SO SOAKED on Splash Mountain that our clothes were wet/damp for awhile and actually helped to keep us cool.

Thank you! It's weird, there was no forecast for rain but it started sprinkling just as we parked and actually was raining for a good two hours. If you are worried about getting wet, maybe, but it honestly felt good to us. We took the opportunity to go on Grizzly River Run, which apparently no one else thought to do (it was already raining! why not get wet!) and we were able to stay on and ride through again! I think it stopped for good by around 10:30 or so, and ultimately it was nice that it took so long for the sun to come out and for it to get heated up.
I don't think it will bother you. The trick is to carry water at all times and just know that many parts of the parks are in full sun and that you should avoid those parts as much as possible. I've become a master at navigating DL in the heat. I'm sure it will be very easy for you. Listen to your body and you'll be fine.so does anyone think we will have problems with the heat, or will it feel cool to use? LOL!! Trying to figure out if we need to bring long sleeve shirts?
