We are shorthanded today at work and I had to strip all of our hotel rooms and each on had a distinct and separate smell.
Not to mention hairy and really messy.

Reminds me of that movie BLUE CRUSH, where those poor girls had to clean out disgusting guys rooms...
I always think about that when I'm at a hotel...I do NOT wanna know what the people who were there before me did...

I know people who are even more disgusting when they are away because "there's a maid to clean up." I had to get on our niece and nephew when we took them to WDW for exactly the same attitude.

I see housekeeping/mousekeeping as "people" who are there to do general cleaning and housekeeping (make the bed and change the towels, etc.), not clean up our personal mess. Nobody should ever be on vacation from good manners and personal hygine.

On a somewhat related note, the hospital where I work just got all new furniture for patient rooms. Any of the old furniture, consisting mostly of chairs and wooden tables(such as the type that would hold flowers), they offered for sale.

I ask you...would you buy furniture that had been used by hospital patients???!!!!!!!!!! I am a nurse, I have seen what people have "done" in those chairs. I wouldn't take them if the hospital PAID ME to take them.

awww man, hugs for the OP! And people wonder why I tip houskeeping at hotels so well...this is just one of the reasons why! (I also make sure that we don't pig up the room either!)

I will think of Phrebert the next time I need to tip housekeeping at a hotel/motel and make sure that person is compensated handsomly for what they must endure on a daily basis. This is not a job I could do - I can't even clean my own house, let alone a whole bunch of rooms that don't even belong to me. for you Phrebert.
