Has anyone done the penquin/puffin tour? We love puffins and penquins and thought my 4 year old would love this, but it is kind of pricey. I wondered is there really enough offered during the "tour" to justify the cost?
Thanks!:cutie:

There is a Penquin/Puffin Encounter at the park. You might want to stick to that...it's cute and she can see the animals up close.

We did the tour last year that takes you behind the scenes in the Arctic exhibit and lets you pet a penguin. I believe it was only about $15.00 for adults. It was very worth the money, it was a wonderful tour and the kids loved it :goodvibes

I looked into this last night on the Seaworld Orlando site. Cost is $50.00 per adult (not sure of child price) for a 60 minute tour above your admission cost.

For the tour where you pet a penguin?!? Wow, tall about inflation!!! It was $15.00 an adult last year ! I don't think it was worth $50.00...

Maybe it was a different tour. I was surprised when you quoted $15, because I was pretty sure it was around $50.00 when I priced it to do in San Diego 4 years ago. If it had only been $15 4 years ago we would have done it. So, I went to check it out again as we are heading to Orlando, unfortunately price was still the same. I read somewhere on the Disboards lately that the tour in San Diego with the penguins is better than the one in Orlando, but for $15 I would have done it Orlando with my daughter as she is crazy about penguins.

Does anybody know what happens during the tour - like what do you see / do backstage aside from petting a penguin?

Also has anybody who has been had a picture with a penguin other than the ones ive found online when you are petting it and you just see the penguins behind :lmao:

i will definately be doing this trip anyway because i LOVE penguins - they just fascinate me with their little characteristics and ways.

every day, like 2 times a day, they have trainer that comes out and talks to the audiance about the peguins. They do a little Q&A. Then at the end, the trainer will ask a question and the first correct response will get to go backstage a meet a penguin. I was soo mad at Kari when she told me to say 7 and the answer was 6 (breeds with the yellow feathers). That's better than paying 50$ to do it. Of course it depends on how fast your hand goes up. But don't raise it before he finishes the question.

Kinda like the time she finally got into the hot seat at millionaire, and she heard some kid say the answer but she guessed something different. But now she will forever know who David Ogden Stiers is, and what characters he voiced.

Kari wants to do the beluga whale experience. They used to have a sign for kids camps with a picture of the whale on it, and she was so mad that she couldn't do it. And one day we walked out and saw the sign had changed, and now she won't let me forget about it.

wow thats a good tip - ill look out for times the trainers will be out and hopefully my knowledge of p'guins will come in handy :thumbsup2
