How much is the cost of the new pressed penny machines for the 50th? I would like to bring a roll of pennies and thought a roll of quarters would do it but my DH swears it will cost us $50 to do all the pennies.
TIA
Chris

So far as I know it's still 51 cents. The penny plus 2 quarters.

Will the machines take Canadian quarters or just American? I know stupid question. :confused3

We just got back last night...If you want just the milestones they go from 1955-2005 (50 of them * 51 cents each)...If you want the rest there are about another book and a half (70 ish) as well as dimes, quarters and nickels...Most of the places (especially the penny arcade) have change machines. I would bring new pennies though! :)
Also...at the Town Hall you can pick up a list of where the penny machines are located throughout the park.

So are you saying that there are not only penny press machines but nickel, dime, and quarter press machines? If so, is there a list somewhere online?

Found a list of the coin press machines if anyone wants a list:

Okay if I am figuring this right, if I wanted to get one of each of the coins it would cost $90.46 plus the books to hold them. This is assuming that each coin costs 2 quarters plus the coin. I might just try to get the 50th anniversary coins, this could get expensive but what a great souvenier.

The Disneyland Bank is not a bank, just an AP processing center. I don't know that there's anywhere in DL to get rolls of coins.

From my recollection the pennies were 51cents each, the dimes were 85cents, nickels were 80 cents and the quarters were a dollar.
The penny press books were $6 each and we needed 3 of them...
Although it was a bit pricey it was also a fun time for the family to find the machines!
:earsboy:

I read a great hint on another board for the penny press. Save the plastic tubes that M&M Mini's come in and layer the quarters/pennies in the tubes. Put in 2 quarters, then 1 penny, 2 quarters, then 1 penny, etc.... Then you have the correct coins in the correct order in handy carrying tubes.

If you are just going after the 50th pennies, there are 50 x .51 = 25.50.
I think it is important to get a roll of shiny pennies. I have used just any pennies before and the dirty ones still look dirty when they are pressed and the image is not as impressive. This will make your collection more consistant too.
