just wondering how it was and to hear any and all reviews of it. My Daughter will be turning 13 a few weeks after we return and I was thinking of booking her this tour as she is PENGUIN CRAZY!!!!!! We did the behind the scenes tour last time there as that was the only way to see a penguin. The penguins are open and the tour is back up and running. Any information is greatly appreciated :)

It wasn’t recent but my wife, father in law, and I did this 2 years ago. They took us in the back and separated everybody into 2 groups. About 6-8 people in one room with one of the smaller warm weather penguins where they let the little guy walk around freely while the trainers told us about the penguin and answered questions. We got to touch it and take pictures with it. Then the groups switch and we went into the back part of the actual penguin exhibit out of sight from the public. That’s when the trainer brought over an emperor penguin to hang out with us. He’s was really cool… my absolute favorite part of that trip. We were able to touch him and squat down next to him while the trainer took our pictures. Definitely worth it if you like penguins.

Will be doing this next sunday the 26th. I will report back. It is a surprise for my husbands birthday. If your looking for a kids point of view I cant help as were just the two of us but we lime to think were kids at heart early 30's in reality.

We did this tour in august and it was amazing, our penguin, Leon, was incredible. There were 12 total on the tour with lots of time for petting and pictures. My kids were 9 &13 and in awe at the experience! It was a fantastic way to see all the penguins in the new enclosure. I definately recommend the tour but bring a sweatshirt, it is chilly!

As Promised my report on the tour!

I think my husband really enjoyed his surprise.

We arrived at Seaworld at about 10:00 and immediately checked into the reservations counter. They explained where to meet what time to be there and circled it on the map. You meet right by the pacific point sealions. Our tour was at 1230 pm. Our group consisted of 10 people and a baby (not the best at diserning age that young but maybe just over a year, she wasn't walking and slept most of the tour) We had the family of three with the baby, 2 other couples a mom and a little girl about 7 or 8 celebrating her birthday and my husband and I. At each stop on the tour the guide would make sure you were able to get pictures and you saw everything as you stopped at windows to offices and vet rooms and such. Once we went through one set of doors, the aviculturist opened what looked like a freezer door and said it was a nursery as they are just coming out of hatching season. We then moved into the back of the actual enclosure, he brought out a king penguin and I think he said a Gentoo. He held the king in place so everyone could get pictures with him, the education guide even took pictures of those by themselves of or of the couples as We wouldn't have one of us together other wise. Once the king let him know he was done he was let back to the other side of the fence in the enclosure the little penguin stayed a bit longer and you rotated to get pictures with it all the while the avicultulist is telling you different facts and taking questions. I am sorry if this is a bit of a ramble it is a great tour.

Edited to take out the pics they were only boxes? sorry It won't let me put images in.

How much is this tour per person? Sounds fun to surprise my 10 yr old for b-day over spring break!

We did this in November and it was amazing. Our experience was almost identical to Angel girls. We ended up meeting three penguins during the tour. I don't remember their names. But one came out for awhile and wanted to go back in. The guide got another one to come out and a second one wanted to join in too so we met two at once. We would definately recommend it :)

One thing to keep in mind is that it gets cold in there! You might not realise it but you start to notice it after awhile. Also, wear closed in shoes because you need to put the bottom of your shoes into the foot bath and otherwise your actual feet will get wet :)

Its 59 dollars plus tax. Ap holders get a 10% discount. For the two of us with discount was 113 and change. My husband said it was one of the best birthdays he has had yet.

just booked the tour for my daughter's early 13th birthday present :) Can't wait for April 25th!!!
