I plan to mail my letters out tomorrow. Yesterday I got a purple walking cast on my left foot.

Saturday I will be testing my driving skills; fortunately I have an automatic shift in my car. Still need to get my twist.

Not a great weekend. I can drive but my right knee and ankle hurt from the way that I cam walking.

I apologize to my pen pals; my letters are going out today at lunch.

Thanks for the nice thoughts. Four weeks in this cast is a really long time. I shouldn't complain as it could be so much worse. (But, what's the fun in that---got to complain some )

Would you mind letting me in on what the letter and twist is?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, I've never been on this part of the boards and it sounds neat.

Sure thing, and it is not a dumb question at all.


For a three month period, you would get assigned a pen pal. Each month, I post a topic, and a twist for the month. The topic is a topic/subject that you would write about to your pen pal, along with anything else you wish to tell them. For example, in the past a topic was to tell your pen pal about your Halloween plans.

As for the twist, it is a little extra that pen pals would send to each other in the lower price range. Something store bought. And I announce what type of twist to send each other for the month. In the past it has been to send your pen pal something edible that is made in your state/country, send your pen pal a holiday decoration,.....

Sign ups for the next 3 month round of- August, Sept., and Oct. will be held later this month, so if you are interested, let me know or keep your eyes open for it. I give out pen pal info. from the month ahead so that pen pals can get a head start, and letters/twists are to be sent out by the second Saturday of each month. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here, or send me a pm.

Would people be interested/open to sending/receiving from Canada?
And will the sign up page be separate from this thread?

This sounds way more fun than simply sending a letter/postcard like I normally do.

In the past, we have had international participants. You could sign up, and I could see if there are any participants willing to send to Canada. It would be via air mail, and we try to keep twists light in weight, so it shouldn't be too much in cost.

The sign up for the next round would be on another thread. So keep your eyes open for it. I will put it up within the next couple of weeks if not sooner.
