Please, please, please, if you bring Sharpies, don't let your child stand in line with an uncapped pen. A little boy ruined one of our matching shirts by bumping into my son.Just hand your kid the sharpie when he is next in line.

Yeah, just the idea of permanent Sharpies in a child's hand makes me cringe. The retractable one sounds like a better option, but I can just see my kid clicking it in and out and it getting all over the place. So far I too have just done the big fat clicking ballpoint pens that they sell at the parks with the little snowglobe or dangly characters on the end. The kids like them and it's so much easier to remove from clothing or a backpack if something accidently lands on it and clicks it open--Plus it becomes a fun thing to take home.
