I was 29 when I made my first trip to WDW. Of course, I had been to DL 1000's of times by that time.

What?!?! Well, I guess since you were getting your fix in DL... and had no idea what you were missing, you can be excused from that!

So, are you going to let the newbies see any of your WDW pictures, or read your TRs?! Or are you going to lead them blindly into the adventure?!?

They really don't know how much they will like it. My friends that went in 2007 can't wait to go back...

Ooooh, so many newbies for you to introduce to the wonders of WDW! You will take it easy on them, right?

I don't know if I'll take it easy on the 8 nights/9 days. It's alot to cram into a "short" period of time. Factor in trying to meet up with potentially 17 other people of all different age groups....yeah, wish us luck.

Wow Jordan! That seems to have just fallen right into your lap!! It'll be good to have some buddies to hang out with... hope you get a third; that would be perfect!!

The "babysitting" photos made me laugh (again!) Perhaps you should call it babysleeping instead!!

I love this trip report, but wow does it move fast. I think everyone on The Dis reads and comments here.

Your China photos are really interesting. My boyfriend spent a few weeks in China last year and had some similar experiences. I am glad though that he hasn't shared any photos of roasted canine with me. That must have been a bit upsetting to see. The Olympics poses were hilarious!

I too am taking a newbie to Walt Disney World -- my brother. He hasn't been since he was 5, so it should be pretty interesting.

Looking forward to reading more about your china trip and your plans for WDW!

There are several here taking newbies...joy says we should all compare notes. I've had some great times with newbies and some God awful times as well.....

Very interesting pictures - I was glued to the Olympics last summer - so cool to see those buildings - sorry to hear they are in disrepair - I'm interested to hear your next report.

It's always interesting taking someone who's new. I've had folks go who have been meh about ever going back to WDW...how can that be!!!!!

Newbies in Disney. Awesome! It's nice to see it through new eyes.

The guys that are thinking of going will be soo fun to go with.

Having worked there for 6 years, I was there quite a bit. The best was doing opening merchandise stock CM and walking behind Big Thunder Trail at DL. Soooo peaceful and magical that was when I was in college back in the 80s.

So, are you going to let the newbies see any of your WDW pictures, or read your TRs?! Or are you going to lead them blindly into the adventure?!?

Hmmm....if I show them the PTR or TRs, they may change their minds.....

Chapter 9. 2012 anyone?

I forgot to make this a 2 for 1 PTR, but it's probably for the best anyway since 2012 is 3 years away and what sick fool would plan his WDW vacation out that far in advance?

So I want to announce that in mid to late June 2012 we'll be going to WDW. We'll tentatively be doing one week at WDW and one week on the DCL. Why plan out so far in advance? Because we'll be celebrating my 50th!!!!!

That's right in 2012, I'll be turning 50. My birthday is actually in February, but because of the potential Cast of Characters hopping on board, we decided that going after schools are out would be the best. So who you may ask is going? You can probably guess a few...

Wendy and Erin (who by the way will be hitting 10 years old when we go...)

Derek and Dylan(who will be 7)

Ashlyn...(i'll put a picture in later)

My friends who went in 2007 are also on board as they will both be celebrating their 50th birthdays as well. One of their daughters will also be celebrating her Sweet 16 that year.

The couple to the right of me are the ones thinking about coming:

June, her DH, Jeff and Marian MIGHT come if we can convince Jeff to come:

Perhaps travel mates from 2005 will come. My roommates Jean and Leo and my friend Donna:

So we have maybe 20 or so folks interested in coming.....

Why even mention it to you?

I'm inviting all of you along as well!

I'm asking you so early so that you don't have any excuses!!!

Here's what Wendy and I have discussed:

1) You can go to WDW AND the DCL or just one or the other.
2) You don't have to hang out with us the whole time.
3) We will probably host 2 huge meets at WDW and 2 on the DCL. Like an Illuminations dessert or something like that.
4) We don't have to stay at the same resort.
5) You don't have to buy me a present...just a drink or three.
6) You really don't have to spend that much time with us, it would just be nice to meet up with you folks. I made some friends for life the last trip and I feel like many of you are already family.......

So no need to reply right now. Just save the date!!!!!

Oh...I've not be around a ton lately because......

I bought a new/used car!!!! It's a 2007 4runner Sport Edition!!!!

hmmmm....I just checked my master vacation schedule (I'm serious, I have a chart) and we might be missing you by a month in 2012. The plan has us at WDW that spring (2012) but I want to go to WDW before Danica turns 3 which is May 5th. Bummer!
I'm planning on going on a big Royal Caribbean cruise in 2013 for my 40th!

Our dates aren't set in stone, but it would still probably be after school is out....

I know several folks who cruise RCCL and love it. My parents being one set that love cruising.

2012??? That does happen to be the year of me and my DW's 10 yr. anniversary We have been trying to figure out something big to do by ourselves, and this just may have to be it... We both would love to do a cruise, and you can't really go to Florida without going to WDW for at least a few days... A week at each sounds amazing... We will talk about it and keep the date in our head... We may be in for the ride...
