any truth to the rumor that disney will purchase "south of the border" and turn it into a"disney roadside rest" complete with food, lodging, auto care ,wdw info, wdw resort resie., and ticket purchases. :cheer2:

i think it would be great for those of us driving to wdw on rt.95. i for one would really get pumped up!!!

hey, what about replacing the hat with mouse ears? :dance3:

you never know!!!!! :cool1:

my thought behind this is that,if you are coming from the metro ny area, it is at approx the half way point. demo all the structures and start fresh.

Good lord.....they would need to take a flame thrower to that place...last time i ventured into a bathroom there, here was my reaction:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

This rumor was also discussed here in June 2007: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1497435

I don't think Disney wants to own Pedro's 200-foot tall Sombrero Tower or Fort Pedro (the "Fireworks capitol of the U.S.") or even El Drug Store.

In the unlikely case that Disney wants to get into the "Disney roadside rest" business, they would buy some land at an Interstate highway exit and build something with the quality that people expect from Disney.

The only possibility is that there's some confusion over Disney's upcoming movie "South of the Border," about a spoiled Beverly Hills chihuahua who is lost in Mexico.

Replacing the hat with mouse ears?! That would be cool!! Anything with the ears is perfect.
