I work a pedometer on my recent 7 day trip to WDW. I wore it whenever we weren't in the hotel room and we visited parks every day for pretty much all day.

Guess how many steps my pedometer registered.

Well I know after spending 1 day in EPCOT on my last trip (curse that Food and Wine Festival! ;) ) we did something like 9 miles...can't remember the steps though - about 15,000 I think!

So...15,000x7=105,000 - go on, givus a clue...higher or lower? :)

I wear a pediometer every time I visit WDW. I usually put on 9-12 miles per day. It's fun to keep track of your miles.

My DH and I wore pedometers on our last trip. One day his registered well over 20K, I want to say around 23,000. We'd gone to Epcot one morning to the Food and Wine Festival and then went to MNSSHP, but had taken a long mid-day break so I can't imagine what it would have read if we hadn't taken that break. It's "easy" to get 18,000-20,000 steps.

I actually lost my pedometer, but it was turned into lost and found and I got it back.

My pedometer is ready to go again in less than 48 hours!

I'm very interested to see the answer to this question. My question is, why with all the walking we do at Disney do I still manage to gain 5-10 pounds. That's way more walking than I do daily and I actually overall eat less. The magic must be loaded w/ calories!!! :D

oh - thanks for the reminder! DH and I commented back in september that we should bring pedometers on our next trip! I'll have to remind him to pick a couple up.

No it's not the magic, it's the large amount of walking that we are not used to that gains the muscle that is topped with calories.
:cool1:

And the answer is:

My pedometer registered a total of 158,731 steps which translates to about 75 miles!

Now, not every step registered was an actual step. I wonder how many steps it thought I took while riding BTMRR? Or any other bumpy ride for that matter.

Even if it was off by 30%, that's still more than 50 miles. That's 2 marathons! Holy Schmoly!

I found that a typical all day park day from 9am to 7pm registered about 24,000 steps.

On an average day, my pedometer says I walk about 10,000+ steps. Maybe I really have to bring my pedometer to WDW just to see how much more I walk over my average day at work.
