Pedometer Recommendations????

I bought the thin "SportLine" pedometer that is about the size of a credit card but it was/is a piece of junk. It kept resetting it self back to the manufacturer settings and then this weekend it just went blank completely. I've had it less than 3 weeks. I liked this one because you could put it in your pocket - I HATE things on the waistband, they really bother me!

So does anyone have a recommendation of a sturdy/reliable pedometer that will operate from a pocket or attached to a bag, something besides at the waistband?

DH and I both bought an Omron model from Amazon about 6-8 months ago & have been *very* happy with it!

It tracks steps, aerobic steps (>10 min consistent walking at a certain pace that slips my mind), mileage and calories if you input your weight. It also keeps track of the above 4 stats over the last 7 days.

It's on the larger side: about 3 in tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick (add another 1/2 inch for the clip) - but it can fit in a pocket and as long as it remains upright (i.e. not laying on its face), will accurately track your steps. If you wear it as a clipon on a pocket or waistband - it has a "leash" with a separate clip that has come in handy many times.

Honestly, the best pedometer I've ever had cost $2.96 at walmart.

If you don't like it on your waistband, you can clip it onto your shoe.

Thanks for the input. I've had several people recommend the Omron, I think I will give that one a try. I'm tempted to try a cheapy from Walmart but I'm frustrated at this point and just one that works! Not wanting to mess with another off brand. Thanks for your input ladies!

We also have a cheap one from Walmart, it was about 7.00. We have 3 thay all work great.

Will these inexpensive models from Wal-mart operate properly in your pocket or in your bag? Or do you have to wear them on your waistband? Thank you!!
