I bought the thin "SportLine" pedometer that is about the size of a credit card but it was/is a piece of junk. It kept resetting it self back to the manufacturer settings and then this weekend it just went blank completely. I've had it less than 3 weeks. I liked this one because you could put it in your pocket - I HATE things on the waistband, they really bother me!

So does anyone have a recommendation of a sturdy/reliable pedometer that will operate from a pocket or attached to a bag, something besides at the waistband?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I had a thin one that I purchased and ended up taking it back...it was counting steps when I was just driving down the road (not accurate at all).

I just ordered the Omron Pocket Pedometer HJ-112 from Amazon and got it in yesterday...have it on for the first time today. It isn't slim like the other but in reading the manual you can place it in your pocket (not the back pocket), place it in your bag or on your belt. It also comes with a strap and a clip.

I can't really recommend it too much yet since I haven't had it long enough but thought I'd pass along the information. Good luck in your search.

I had the Omron one above until I had an unfortunate bathroom toliet incident (it fell out of my pocket, lol). It was wonderful and the best one I ever used. It didn't rely on those little ticks to count it, it used a different system. This is the only one I'd reccomend. Way better than the others and you really can throw it in your pocket - as long as its upright, not upside down. Oh - and just be careful with it when its in your pocket :) :lmao:

You weren't using the safety clip were you:scared1: ? As soon as I put it on for the first time, I attached that strap and the clip, I was already thinking that I would be upset if it landed in the toilet. Glad to hear that you liked it so well though, so far it seems pretty accurate.

Thank you!! That's the one I'll take a look at when I try to return this useless one I have.....LOL

Thanks again.

Yes - no clip -LOL! :rotfl2: :rotfl:
I was pretty sad about it! I haven't ordered a replacement yet though.

I've had that same Omron model for about 2 years. Once you set the basics (height/weight/stride) you're good to go. The only flaw I can see with it is the 'reset' button it has on the front. It would be much better if it was recessed, so it wouldn't accidentally get pressed while in your pocket (to be fair, it's only happened maybe 6 times in 2 years of daily use).

It keeps record of your steps for 7 days, so if you want to keep a more extensive log, you'll need to make you own spreadsheet or the like and keep track that way.
