Pedicures? How often?

Hi all,
I almost hate to admit this but at age 37, I just had the first pedicure I've ever had in my life. It was fabulous!

Anyway, now the big question, how often should one have a pedicure?

Thanks for answering my silly question!

I can't afford them right now, but wish I could. I only got them for special occassions, but have heard some that get them every 2 weeks.

I have to admit, they are one of my selfish luxuries!

I'm hopelessly inept at painting my own nails....even my toes. But I love for them to look nice. And I love to have a foot massage.

So I splurge and have one every two weeks! The place I go to is very reasonable....$12.00 for a regular pedicure and $15.00 for a French pedicure.

About twice a year I'll REALLY splurge and get one at a day spa, or an upscale salon. That usually costs at least $35.00 but they spend a lot more time on the pedicure. :) :)

Glad you enjoyed it!

I had one once and loved it until I watched 20/20 and they had a big thing on it. It was gross, all the sores you can get on your legs that scare you if the footbath chair you were in was not cleaned properly. They shoowed how some old debry from other people (skin and scars) could be floating around when you have your feet in it. YUCK, I never had and never will have another one again :D

Never had a pedicure. I'll have to do that one day. :)

Once a month, I have a mama morning and get my nails done. I have ingrown toe nails and my pedicurist is a genius! In fact, she was a doctor in Russia, but couldn't afford to re-do medical school once she immigrated. SO I have the great fortune of having my tootsies very well taken care of!

As for the fear of getting something yucky, the place I go to is VERY clean...upscale and particular. The peidcure chair is cleaned with disinfectant after every client. Rita cleans her tools right in front of me and cleans her hands with alcohol before she touches me. I have no worries and it is a nice relaxing hour and a half!

So, is once a month the recommended schedule?

Every two weeks is too often I think.

I was sort of thinking every other month.

Thanks for the input!

I just had one Monday Scraped some of my polish off at Typhoon Lagoon last week so I needed it. I am a receptionist at a hair salon and we do nails as well. Most let their tootsies go over the winter but once sandal weather arrives the average pedicure occurs about once a month. Enjoy!

Had one on the Disney Wonder and it was divine. I watched them change the water, pull out the clean implements. I've been using the True Blue Spa items from Bath and Body. Toe the Line is so refreshing - cleans the dry skin off and leaves your feet feeling soft and cool. Also use the Shea it isn't So Shea Butter Foot Cream at night. I'm getting a few more items tomorrow with my coupons that I got a few weeks ago. $10 off with $25 purchase. No polish on the nails with this, but nearly as nice and I can do it at home whenever I feel like it. Usually it's my Saturday morning treat after I walk my three miles.

I'm a good bit older than you and I've never had a real pedicure either. Sounds like fun though. :)
