Pediasure in checked luggage. Leak?

One of my kids uses pediasure to help with weight gain. It isn't cheap so we have accumulated a good supply through coupons and dr. samples. So I'd rather not have to buy it in Florida.

What are the chances the bottle will pop/leak if it goes with checked luggage?

How much are you planning on taking? I understand the cost, btdt, but it can get heavy and you might end up paying extra baggage fees that would cost more than a couple of 6 packs.
That said, I would put in in a ziplock bag and wrap it in bubble wrap. Those bottles are pretty sturdy, but just have some extra padding.

I've packed pediasure, single serve formula bottles, and bottled water into a checked bag multiple times and never had a problem. Just put them in a ziplock bag. I usually try to pack them in the middle of the suitcase surrounded by clothes. Put a few bottles into each checked bag and make sure you weigh the bag at home so you don't get charged an overweight bag fee.

I would put them in ziplock bags and then wrap them in bubble wrap. Then on your way home use the bubble wrap to any souvenir you buy.

With southwest 2 bags under 50 lbs fly free and one case of water weighing 25lbs, would it be feasible to check two cases in 2 pieces of luggage? Those with experience what's the best way to pack it?

Thanks

I guess even in plastic bags they could leak water over mine or other peoples luggage so I guess it's a bad idea

We only need to pack 2 six packs. Doubt it would put us over the weight limit but I will definitely weigh the bags at home before going to the airport. We need to check a bag either way so the fee for checking it is a wash.

Get a Dr note to carry it. I brought 2 quart sized cartons of rice milk in my carry-on last summer.

From TSA site:

Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, and breast milk are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint. Officers may need to open these items to conduct additional screening.

You could make an argument that it is a medication and not subject to TSA limits on liquids in carry-on bags. You may or may not be successful, however, and a doctor's note will almost certainly make no difference one way or another. If the TSA agent and supervisor where you are trying to get it through security decide not to let it through--and you can bet there is discretion on that front--then you will have to ditch the Pediasure or check it.

Given the quantity you plan to check, I'd just go ahead and put it in your checked bags. Double bag it and wrap it in bubble wrap and/or clothing and you should be fine.
